ANCHORING ELEMENT FOR CONCRETE CONSTRUCTION.
Application filed January 26, 1927. Serial No 163,649.
The main object of this invention is to provide an anchoring element for concrete constructions which is well adapted for the securing of floor sleepers to a concrete foundation or wall facings or the like which is very economical in structure and permits the securing of tie members at substantially any point desired.
Objects pertaining to details and economies ofv my invention will definitely appear from The invention is clearly defined and pointed out in the claims.
A structure embodying the features of my invention is clearly illustrated in the accompanying drawing forming a part of this application, in which:

Referring to the drawing, 1 represents a concrete floor foundation or the like and 2 the sleepers. My improved anchoring element comprises a rod 3 preferably formed of wire or light rod and provided with a plurality of spaced anchoring members 4, these anchoring members being provided with hook-like eyes 5 at their upper ends engaged over the rod and secured thereto in fixed relation by means of welding, as indicated at 6 in Fig. 3.
These anchoring members are preferably bent or distorted as shown so as to provide an effective anchoring hold in the cement body. The anchoring elements are positioned when the concrete is in a plastic state by pushing the anchoring members into the concrete with the rod portion lying along the surface of the concrete. When the concrete is set the rod portionmay be pried up sufliciently to receive a tie wire such as indicated at 7 or abit of the concrete chipped out under the rod to permit the passing of the tie wire below the same.
The sleepers asshown in Fig. 1 may be positioned as desired, that is, in any desired spaced relation, and quickly and securely anchored.
In the adaptation shown in Fig. 4: I show one of my anchoring, elements as applied to a wall 8, ties 9 being engaged therewith for anchoring the brick facing 10.
In the modification of Fig. 5 the anchoring members 11 are provided with two legs,
the same being formed ofpieces of wire bent to receive the rod','the bights of the anchoring members being secured. in the same manner as the eyes of the embodiment described.
My improved anchoring elements are very economical to produce and are highly satisfactory in use, the same being convenient to handle and eifective forthe purpose.
Having thus described my inventionwhat I claim as new and desireto secure by Letters and in fixed relation thereto so that said anchoring members may be forced into a concrete body in plastic condition with the rod lying along the surface thereof.
