WILLIAM ALLEN DICK, OF OLEVES, OHIO.
IMPROVEMENT IN CORN-HUSKERS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 168,624, dated October 11, 1875 application tiled June 26, 1675.
To all whom it may concern .Be it known that I, WILLIAM A. DICK, of Gleves, Horn county, Ohio, have invented a new and Improved Oorn-Husker, of which the following is a speoiiication:
My invention consists of a kind of pod augershaped tool, with a pointed tip a little in advance of the cutting-lip arranged on ahorizonlal revolving aXle, in combination with a sliding table to Feed the corn-ears up to the tool, the object being` to remove the shucks Without the loss attending the old methods,
moving the husks; and F is the sliding table for feeding the ears up to the tool. The ears being laid on the table with the butt ends to the tool and moved up to it, the butts. will be ground or turned o and the husks cut and separated therefrom by thelip D, the point E being a center to hold the stub or butt to the lip.
The sliding table will be mounted on springs, so that it can be depressed to adjust large ears to the tool.
Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent- The combination of the rotating, husking, and stub-cutting tool D E, and the sliding table F, substantially as and for the purpose set forth.
