This invention relates to the construction of springs upon either side of the central pivot. The object of the present invention is to improve the construction and arrangement of the frames of such bogie trucks, and the invention consists in a bogie truck of the kind referred to in which the side frames of the truck are connected by three fixed members, an upper member connecting the upper parts of the side frames and two lower members connecting the lower parts of said side frames and spaced apart to clear the springs which take the load.
The invention also consists in a bogie truck of the kind referred to in which the transom or main transverse member of the truck consists of three parts, an upper part comprising a beam with its major axis horizontal and two lower parts each of which consists of an an gle member, the latter being spaced apart to clear the springs which take the load.
The accompanying drawings illustrate one mode of carrying out the invention.

In carrying our invention into effect in one convenient manner in its application to a bogie for freight cars we may arrange the springs to take the load on each side of the central pivot as described in the specification of our co-p'ending application No. 117,823 or as described in the British specification No. 14,147 of 1909 or otherwise.
The transom or main transverse member consists of three parts, an upper part a and twolower members I). The upper member is formed as a beam with the ma or axis of the section horizontal so as to afford great stiff- 'ness in transmitting buffer shocks, and the lower transverse members 5 are formed as angles and are spaced apart as shown in order to clear the springs and to form a tie between the main frames at each sideand also to aotas a truss to resist vertical bending moment on the cross members while at the same time completing the bracing of the side frames. The
