. tion indicators, and the object of the inven= 3 tion is to devise simple means for releasably lockin the illuminatin bulb sun JOItS in t: z-v 1 place so that they may be readilyremoved Whenever des red, and it consists essentially of the arrangement and construction of parts as hereinafter more particularly explained.
Fig. l is a sectional view through a portion of the back Wall and a Wall vertical thereto and the incandescent bulb and bulb support the bulb being shown in elevation and the support partially in section and partially in elevation.
Fig. 2 is a sectional plan view on line 22 Figure 1. V y
In the drawing like characters'of reterence indicate corresponding parts in each figure. l
1 indicates a portion of a back Wall of a direction indicator casing. 2 is a Wall er;- tending' at right angles thereto and forming D an orifice formed in the Wall 2. .t is a boss extending from the back Wall and from 'the wall ,2 and provided adjacent the Wall .2 with a recess 5.
The recess 5 maybe made concentricto the centre of the orifice 3, but this is not essential.
The incandescent bulb support is in the form of a sleeve 6 in which the bulb base 7 is secured by means of a pin or pins 7* extending into correspondingbayonet slots 6*,
8 is a spring contact pin of any suitable construction mounted Within the sleeve :6. 9 is an annular flange extending-around the'sleeve 6, a portion of which is cut ol'las indicated at 9 7 7 When it is desired to place my bulb sup port in position all it is necessary to do is to pass the sleeve 6 through the orifice 3 so that the cut off portion 9* is opposite the boss 4%.. When the flange 9 is brought opposite the recess 5 the support is turned into the position shown in Figure 2 so that the flange enters the recess 5 thereby securely locking; the bulb support in place from Withdrawal. y 1 l /Vhatl claim as my invention is V The combination With two Wall portions set at right angles one to the other, one of said portions having anorifice therein, a recess formed in-tlie other wall portion adjacent the orifice a sleeve forming a support for an incandescent bulb and coacting contacts and fitting the'a'l oresa'idorifice and provided with an annular flange having a cut off portion adapted when the sleeve is turned to permit the flange thereof clearing the recess to permit of the. Withdrawal of the sleeve. 7
