DISPENSING CONTAINER.
Application filed May 16, 1927. Serial N0.l91,905.
This invention relates to new and useful improvements in containers of the dispensing variety and aims to provide a highly novel, simple, and inexpensive device of this character wherein indicating slugs, markers or the like used in chance controlled games may be singly dispensed to the various players of the game after which the proper moves as directed by the lug or marker may be made.
In carrying out my invention there is provided a container that generally includes a box having slidable means for receiving a single slug or marker within the box from whence it may be delivered by pulling outwardly upon the slide and then removing the slug therefrom.
In the drawing wherein like reference characters indicate corresponding parts throughout the several views:
Figure 1 is a top plan view of the dispensin container.
Figure 2 is a front end elevation.
Figure 3 is a detail longitudinal section, and
Figure 4 is a bottom plan view, the bottom wall thereof being removed for more clearly disclosing the construction of the dispensing slide member.
Figure 5 is a perspective View of a. disc-or slug used in the dispensing container.
Now having particular reference to the drawing my novel dispensing container consists of a box 5 preferably of square or rectangular configuration having a false bottom wall 6 in spaced parallel relation with the main bot-tom wall as indicated in Figure 3. This false bottom wall 6 isformed adjacent its forward end and at its center with a circular opening 7, While arranged upon the front wall of the box directly above this open-' ing 7 is a deflection wall 8 preferablyof segmental circular formation as indicated in Figure 4.
The top wall of the box is formed directly above the opening 7 of the false bottom wall 6 with an entrance slot 9, the purpose of the member 8 being to deflect the articles from the opening 7 that are delivered to thebox to the slot 9. v. The forward wall of the box 5 directly in front of the opening 7 in the false bottom wall 6 is provided with a slot 10, while slidable therethrough and into the box is a delivery plate 11 of relatively narrow formatio-nand Iormed at its inner end with; a crossstrip 12,
the ends of which'will strike against blocks 13-13 between the main and false Walls of the box 5 at opposite sides of-the slot 10 in the forward Wall thereoffor.preventing the entlre removal of the delivery member from said box. 7 I
The top face of this delivery memberll is formed with a pocket 14 for registry with the opening 7 in the false wall 6 when the del very member is extended rea'rwardly to itsl1m1t of movement as in Figure 3, the length of the deliverymember-being such that the outer end thereof will at all times project through the slot 10 in the forward wall of the box 5 so that it may be grasped in the fingers of the operator. 7
Preferably circular slugs or discs A of the character disclosed in Figure 5 are to be arranged within this box, the top or bottom or both faces of the slug or disc having indicating characters or wording thereon representative of certain moves to be made by the individual players in a game of ten. Obviously the box 5 carries a number of these slugs or discs and by shaking the box one of the same Wlll be caused to pass through the opening 7 in the false wall 6' to drop into thepocket 1a f into the delivery slide 11, after which the" same may be withdrawn from the box by pulling the slide forwardly, and then by returning the slide the operation may be repeated.
' It will thus be seen that I have provided ahighly novel, simple, and inexpensive dispensing container that is well adapted for all the. purposes heretofore designated, even though I have herein shown and described the lnvention as consisting of certain detail structural elements it is nevertheless to be understood that some changes may be made there-- in without affecting the spirit'and scope of the appended claim.
Having thus described the invention, what- I claim is In a dispensing container of the character described, a closed box having an article enfalse bottom wall within the box in spaced relation with the main bottom wall thereof,
10o trance opening within the top wall thereof, a
one end wall of the box being provided with e an opening between saidffalse and main bottom wall, said false wall being provided with an opening through whichthe articles withfalse Wall when the member is slid inwardly in the box may pass, and a T-sheped slide so that the articles passing through the open- 10 member mounted for sliding engagement being in the falsewall may drop therein end be tween'the false and bottom Walls ofthe box, removed from the box; by moving the slide 5 theouter end of the slide member at. alltimes member in an outward direction.
projecting through the opening in the. box, In testimony whereof I alfix my signature. and being provided at its top side with a s J pocket for registry with the opening in the HOVARD H. WVILHELM.
