E. TOENNIESSEN PRESSING on DEVICE FOR TUBES AND YARN BODIES or SPINNING AND DOUBLING FRAMES F11 JG! 8, 1927 Patented Aug. 28, 1928.
UNITED STATES PATENTOFFICE. a
ERNST TOENNIESSEN, OF TUBINGEN, GERMANY.
PRESSING-OFF DEVICE FOR TUBES AND YARN BODIES OF SPINNING AND DOUBLING FRAMES.
Application filed January 8, 1827, Serial No.
This invention relates to a pressing-off device for tubes and yarn bodies of spinningand doubling frames, which device presses a whole row of tubes off their spindles. The object of the invention differentiates essentially from the known devices, serving for the same purpose, in that a guide rail is suitably arranged along the rows of spindles. The frame of the pressing-oif device is fitted with a hand lever enabling the inclination of said frame on the guide rail, whereby the supporting point of the frame, viz, the pulleys, serve as points of oscillation or inclination. A second hand lever, fixed to the pressing-off comb, is further provided. The device is of simple construction and its manipulation is easy.
One form of construction is shown, by way of example, in the accompanying drawing. 7 r
A guide rail .9 is mounted on the spindle bearing plate, supporting the guide pulleys 7' of frame R; The frame R, which is of suitable rigid construction, can be rolled along the machine with the aid of the hand lever H. A comb h, having its pivot point at i, is pivotally mounted on frame R. hand lever h is fixed to the pivotable comb it above the pivot point 2".
The operation is as follows;
After the machine has been fully charged, the frame R is placed, with its pulleys r on the rail 8, preferably taking lever H in the right hand, and lever h in the left hand. Now the frame R is brought into an inclined position away from the machine, by means of lever H. and the device is pushed in the correct position so that the teeth of the oscillable comb h register with the intervals between the spindles, where- 159,979, and in Germany January 11, 1926.
upon, with the aid of the levers h and H, the comb 1S shifted underneath the tubes 72?,
or, if desired, also on the conesof the wound up bobbins. In this position the frame R stands vertical. Lever h is now pressed downwardly which ellects the oscillation of the comb h, the teeth of which thus pressing the row of bobbins on their spindles. The improved device can now be rolled in front of the next row of spindles, where the hereinbefore-mentioned operation is repeated.
It will be clearly understood thatthe im-. proved device does not impede the spinner during the spinning operation. I
1. In a pressing-off de'vice'for spinning and doubling frames, a spindle bearing plate, a guide rail fixed to said spindle-bearmg plate in combination with a rigid frame with means for rolling the frame on the guide rail, means for oscillating the frame on the guide rail, a pressing-oif comb pivotally mounted on. said frame and meansfor oscillating said pressing-off comb on the frame, substantially asj described and shown and for the purpose set forth.
2. In a, pressing-off device for spinningand doubling frames, a spindle bearing plate, a guide rail fixed to said spindle bear- .ing plate in combination with a rigid frame with pulleysfor-rolling the frame on the guide rail, a lever for oscillating the frame on the guide rail, a pressing-off comb pivotally mounted on said frame and alever for oscillating said pressing-off comb on the frame, substantially as described and shown and for the purpose set forth.
'In testimony whereof I afiix my signature.
