IMPROVEMENT IN OILERS FOR CRANK-WRISTS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent 0. 168, 163, dated September 28, 1875; application filed August 28, 1875. a
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, CHARLES KURTH, of Chattanooga, in the county of Hamilton and State of Tennessee, have invented a new and the following is a specification:
In the accompanying drawing, Figure 1 rep- Improved Oiler for Crank-Wrists, of which resents a top view, and Fig. 2 a vertical central section, of my improved oiler for cranlc wrists, on the line 00 at, Fig. 1.

Theobject of my invention is to provide an revolving journaled pipe, with the perforated crank-pin, for conveying a certain quantity of oil at each revolution of the shaft.
In the drawing, A represents the oil-receptacle, with regulating stop-cock, which is attached to a bed-plate, B, and connected, by a bottom aperture and exit-channel, a, with the I crank-pin connecting-pipe O, that is secured at one end by a screw-journal, b, into the bed- The connecting-pipe (J is bent at each end, but in opposite direction at right angles, and the other end set into a central perforation, d, of the crank-pin D. A certain play in lateral direction is given to pipe 0 to allow for small inaccuracies of the revolving parts.
The perforations d of the crank-pin D are eX- tended at right angles to the longitudinal entrance part, into which the oil-pipe O enters, so as to supply the oil to the crank-wrist.
A small quantity of oil is conducted from the oil-receptacle to the wrist when the crankpin and oil-pipe pass through the lower half of each revolution, furnishing thus an even and continuous supply to the crank-Wrist without interrupting the running of the engine.
Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent- Theoombination of oiler A, bed-plate B, having channel a, the journal I), the bent pipe 0, the Wrist-pin having angle-hole d, as and. for the purpose specified.
