Our invention relates to a. new and useful improvement in a toyaeroplane vehicle, and has for its object the provision of a` vehicle simulating in appearance, and somewhat in operation, an aeroplane, and adapted for being pro )elled over the ground by a child.
Anot er object of the present invention is the provision of a vehicle of this class which may be ,easily ,and quickly assembled to acl commodate either one or two persons.
Another object of Vthe invention is the provision of a mechanism whereby the vehicle may be propelled by the rndder when used for one person, `or .when usedfor carrying two persons.
Another object of the invention is the provision of a rudder which may `be moved at the time the vehicle is steered so as to simulate steering by the rudder itself.
Another object of the ,invention is the provision oi a movable tail member on a toy of this kind `.which may be operated at will.
Another `object of the invention is t-he provision of wings on the device which may be so 25 adjusted as to utilize for propelling purposes such .wind as may be encountered when ,the `Vehicle is hein-g used.

Projecting vertically at the forward end oi' the section 9 is a rod 22 having the wheel ffl()` Si? that `a swinging of the member 23 4in .either direction will effect a .steering of the vehicle. 'The rod 25 is Iextended beyond the cross head 28 with the portion 31 and attached Ktol an :outwardly extending arm 32 which is connected to the-rudder 33, this rudder being pivotally mounted on the bolt 34 so that as the vehicle is steered, thc `rudder will also v.be moved angul arly to simulate a steering by fincans oi the rudder.
As yshown in Fig. 2, the rods 25 are each provided with a section 35 which may be reinov'ed whcnrithc middle section B is dispensed with.
A tail piece 3G is pivotally mounted on the bolt 37 and provided with the upwardly extending arm V39 which is connected to the rod 1i() in which is positioned` a removable link Lil, this rod 10 connecting to the upwardly extending lever 42, so that the operator may at will rock the tail downwardly or upwardly, as sliown in Fig. 2. Y `When .the middle section 8 is removed. the connection of the rod 16 with the crank shaft 17 will also be removed, thus connecting the section 7 directly with the section 9 and inaking a shorter vehicle. and one which operates in the manner described.
Projecting outwardly from the section 9 at opposite sides, are wings t3 and 44, each ot these wings being pivotally mounted, as lsho wn in Fig.' Q, and adapted for being swung downwa rdlyby the arms il5 and Llli into a position extending the wings inclined tothe horizontal or vertically thereto. so as to present a body t'or catching the wind and assisting in propelling the vehicle. y
Mounted on the forward end 0l the section 9 is a rotatable rudder eli' which, when the vehicle is propelled at a lairly high rate ot' speed. will be caused to rotate.
In this manner we have provided a vehicle which is finite simple in its structure, easily and quickly assembled i"or accommodating one or two persons, and which is possessed of novel features ol construction, permitting the adjustment ot the device to various forms and atl'oi'ding considerable means of amusement to the occupant while riding in the vehicle. 4
Vhile we have illustrated and described the preferred form of our invention, we do not wish toliniit ourselves to the precise form et structure shown, but desire to avail ourselves o'l such variations and modilications as may come within the scope ot' the appended claims.
Having thus described our invention what we claimas new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:
1. A vehicle ot the class described comprising: a body portion formed from a plurality of sections; means for attaching said sections together; a steering traction wheel carried h v 4said vehicle; sectional means extending roin the t'orward part of said vehicle to said steering traction wheel for operating the saine, one ot the sections of said body and one ot the sections et said means being removable at will, said attaching means being operative loi` attaching adjacent ends of remaining sections together after the removal ol said one section.
2. A vehicle of the class described having a body portion comprising: a front, center and rear section: means for attaching said center section to the forward end ot' said rear section. and the rearward end ot said forward section. said center section being removable at will. said attaching means, upon the removal of said center section serving to attach the rearward end of said forward section to the forward end of said rearward section; a steering traction wheel carried by said rearward section; means extending to the forward section for operating said steering traction wheel, said means being sectional and provided with a central section removable at will, said central section being dispensed with upon elimination of said central body section. -tral section and a rearward section means for attaching said central section to the forward end ot said rearward section and the rearward end of said forward section: traction wheels mounted on said forward section; means accessible to an occupant ot said foi ward section for rotating said traction wheels; operating pedals in said central section accessible to an occupant thereof; and means lor connecting said operating pedals operatively to said traction wheels for etl'ecting the rotation of said traction wheels upon the operation ot said operating pedals. said traction wheels being rotatable by an occupant in the forward section and in the rearward section sin'iultaneoiisly, said central sec tion being removable at will, and said attaching means serving to connect the rearward end ot said forward section with the `forward end of said rearward section, said connecting means being eliminated upon the removal of said central section.
4. A vehicle wheel of the class described having a body comprising: a forward section, a central section and a rearward section; means for attaching said central section to the forward end of said rearward section and the rearward end of said forward section; traction wheels mounted on said forward scction, means accessible to an occupant of said forward section tor rotating said traction wheels; operating pedals in said central section accessible to an occupant thereof; means for connecting said operating pedals opera tively to said traction wheels for effecting the rotation ot said traction wheels upon the operation of said operating pedals, said traction wheels being rotatable bv an occupant in the forward section and in the rearward section simultaneously, said central section being removable at will, and said attaching means serving to connect the rearward end ot said forward section with the forward end of said rearward section, said connecting means lieing eliminated upon the removal of said central section; a steering traction wheel carried by said rearward section; sectional means connected to said steering traction wheel for operating the saine and extending ,to the forward part of said forward section,
the central section ol said operating means being removable upon the removal'of said central body section.
