My invention relates to an apparatus which is intended to contain in a group, and in a concealed condition, a series ot' objects, such as the letters of alphabet, while it admits of an expos of one or more of the. objects in a separate state.
My invention consists in a series of holders which are constructed of a skeleton frame, to receive one or more cards or blocks, which are provided with the chosen objects to be viewed. The frame-holders are arranged upon a common axis within a suitable case having an open top, and each frame is provided with a rod or key, which projects through the side of the box in such manner that by pulling said key outwardly its frame Will be elevated above the box.
My invention further consists of a case having a cushion applied to its bottom, in combination With holders pivoted within said case, and-keys for operating the holders, the
object and function of which will be more fully hereinafter described.
In the accompanying drawing, Figure l is a plan view of my invention; Fig. 2, a transl verse section thereof; and Fig. 3, a view of a skeleton form, so that o-ne or more cards or blocks can be placed within the said frames or holders. Each holder is provided with a staple, b, and to this is secured the end of a rod or key, E, which latter projects out through the side ofthe box, Where it can be conveniently operated, in order to raise the holders out through the top of the box.
By constructing the holders of a skeleton frame cards or blocks provided with different figures or characterscan bearranged therein, or removed and replaced by other cards or blocks having other characters or gures.
The back oi' the box, where the operatingkeys project through, may be marked with suitable characters, 86o., to indicate What the holder corresponding thereto contains.
' Having thus described my invention, what I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, isl
