The top of the cabinet illustrated in Figs. 1 and 2 is provided with the projections 2 626 and the element 27 which extends across the top of the cabinet and is secured to and held by said projections. The element 27 is employed to engage and hold the display cards 28 with relation to the cabinet, and is passed through the reenforced apertures 29 provided in the lower ends of the display cards 28. I

This structure permits the display cards to be moved and the illustrated merchandise provided thereon readily inspected and in addition prevents the unauthorized removal of the display cards from the rack and cabinet.

The uppermost end of the cabinet 15 is further provided with a plurality of projections 30 which are provided to engage the lowermost edges of the display cards and assist to maintain said cards in an upright or proper relative position. V

The posts 18 of the rack are removably fastened by means of screws tothe uppermost portion 31 of the cabinet and are secured in this manner so that they may be arranged to assume the position illustrated in Fig. 3'and thereby reduce the space necessary during shipment or disuse of the cab inet.

From an inspection of Fig. 3 it will be noted that the element 22 carrying the advertisement is removed from the tubular support 20 and the latter is moved with relation to the band 19 so that it projects inwardly relatively to the outer periphery of the cabinet, which thus provides a compact arrangement which will materially reduce the space consumed by the structure during shipment or disuse.

The band 19 is composed of two parts 32 and 33, the opposite ends of which are respectively constructed to provide the projection 34 and the socket 35 open at the end and one side. This band is constructed in this manner to permit the upper end enlargement of the posts 18 to be arranged thereon and be positioned at the juncture of these portions 32 .and 33 thereby permitting the extension 34 to be engaged by the set screw 36, the latter of which is threaded into an aperture provided in the enlarge- The var ous details shown'in connect on with the drawers of the cabinet do not form a part of the invention claimed in this case.

The holder for the sheets of the writing pad 37 is designated 40 and includes an inclined extension and a spindle 41. This holder is illustrated as being part of one of the drawers 16, however, it is manifest that it need not be secured to this portion but might instead be made part of the casing of the cabinet.

Another projecting portion 42 is employed which is also inclined in a manner similar to that of element 40 but differs from this last mentioned element in that one face thereof is'provided with frosted or ground glass 43 which is held with relation to the extension 42 by means of the frame 44. This last mentioned element is provided to produce a convenient structure whereby various memoranda, such as the number of cards contained in the particular drawer, or the condition thereof, etc., may be readily noted and erased after the memorandum has served its purpose.

The rack illustrated in Fig. 7 is substantially the same as that illustrated in Fig. 2 differing however in that the elements entering into the rack and other portions such as stops, etc, are mounted upon a board 48 which is independent of the cabinet.

From the foregoing description it is evident that a cabinetv is provided, the structure of which will permit selections to be made without subjecting a merchants stock to the possibility of rendering it useless or unsaleable.

It is further manifest that the customer may make his selection and make a memoranda thereof which memoranda may subsequently .be handed to the clerk serving the customer. This will reduce the time nece-s sary in making a sale and permit the customer ample time to make a selection without consuming the time of the clerk.

It is also evident that the holder for holding the memoranda so made by the customer is an advantage to the clerk. I

Having thus described the invention what I claim and desire to cover by Letters Patent is:

1. In a device of the class described, the combination of a base, a frame comprised ofseparable sections adapted to be detachably secured together, supports for said frame, said supports being connected to said frame to allow said supports to be moved from their framesupporting position to a position substantially parallel with the base.

2. 'In'a device of the class described the combination of a frame and supports for said frame, said supports being apertured to receive the frame and to permit said supports to pivot with relation to said frame, said frame being separable to allow said supports to be arranged upon the frame and means for releasably locking said frame against separation.

3. In a device of the class described the combination of a frame and supports for said frame, said supports being apertured to receive the frame and to permit said supports to pivotwith relation to said frame, said frame being composed of separable sections to allow said supports to be arranged upon the frame and means for releasibly locking said frame against separation.

4. In a display rack the combination of a base a frame and supports for holding the frame With relation to the base, said frame being composed of sections adapted to be separably connected together, the adjacent ends of said sections being respectively provided with a projection and a socket to receive the projection,- said supports having means for engaging said frame at the connection to hold said frame and supports in associated relation.
