RUBBER OR OVEBSHOE RECEPTACLE.

My invention relates to a new and useful improvement in a rubber or overshoe receptacle, adapted for containing a pair of overshoes or rubbers, so that the one wearing the rubbers or overshoes may place the same in the receptacle for carrying on his person when weather conditions are such that the wearing of the overshoes or rubbers would be undesirable. The advantage of such a receptacle is especially apparent on days when the weather is unsettled so that a person may have his rubbers or overshoes on his person to be worn when necessary. Another advantage of such a receptacle is the availability of something to pack'the overshoes or rubbers in when checking ones coat and as at some public reception or the like.

It is an object of the invention to provide a receptacle of this class which may be rolled into a compact form when not being used and which will serve to hold a pair of rubbers or overshoes in a compact form so that the receptacle, while containing the rubbers or overshoes, may be placed in ones pocket.

Another object of the invention is the provision of a'rec-eptacle of this class having fastening means mounted on it whereby the receptacle, when in rolled condition, may be secured in this compact form. 1

Another object of the invention is the provision of a receptacle of this class which will have a separate pocket foreach rubber or overshoe and provided with fastening means whereby the overshoe or rubber may be secured in the pocket in which placed.

Another object of the invention is the provision of a receptacle of this class which will be provided with separate pockets for the reception of overshoes or rubbers or the like and so constructed that the heel portion of one rubber will be oppositely positioned to the sole portion of the other rubber to provide a compact and shapely package, when used for the purpose.

Other objects will appear hereinafter.

.The invention consists in the combination and arrangement of parts hereinafter de scribed and claimed.

In the form shown in Figs. 2, 3 and 4, a bag portion 12 is provided with folding end walls 13 and 14, and with a fiap15 for serving as a closure of the open end. A female portion 16 of a snap fastener is attached to the flap 15 to vco-operate with a male portion 17 of a snap fastener to secure the flap in operative position; This portion 17 of a snap fastener is mounted on the outside of another bag portion 18 which has a foldable base 19 and foldable end walls 20, the side wall 12 being common to the two bag portions. This portion 18 is open at the end opposite to the end at which the bag portion 12 is open. that a rubber may be thrust forward into each bag portion. thus bringing the toe portion of one rubber and the heel of the other rubber opposite to each other so as to provide a compact'and well shaped package when the two rubbers orovershoes are placed therein. A flap 21 is provided as a closure for the pocket or bag portion 18. Mounted on this .flap,so asto project on of the snap fastener. Mounted on the outside of the bag portion 18, adjacent its lower end is a male portion 23, of a snap fastener which is adapted for engaging the female portion 22 of the snap fastener when the flap is folded backwardly upon the bag portion 18.

lVhen it is desired to use the receptacles shown the rubbers may be placed in the receptacle as described, the heel of one being opposite the toe ofthe other. In the form shown in Figs. 2, 3, and 4, the toe of the rubber will be thrust into the separate pockets or compartments, as it would be difficult to thrust the heel of the rubber or o'vershoe into the compartment. The flaps may then be secured by their respective snap fasteners, as described.

When it is desired to roll the form shown in Fig. 1 into a compact form the rolling would start from the base of the receptacle and the female portion 10 would then be brought into engagement with the male portion 11 to secure the receptacle in rolled condition. 1

In the form shown in Figs. 2, 8, and 4, the female portion 16 is also double faced to projeet on opposite sides of the flap 15. There is also mounted on the back of the bag portion 12 a male fastener 23 which would engage the female portion 16 when the flap is folded backwardly. In this form the rolling may'take place from either end the female portion of the snap fastener engaging the male portion of the snap fastener which serves to engage the female portion of the snap fastener which is attached to the opposite liap. Before rolling, the flap on the endwhich is rolled inwardly would be folded backwardly and secured in position by the snap fastener 23 or 28'.

It is thus seen that I have provided a receptacle of the class described which is simple in structure, economical and eflicient for ters Patent is:

It is-also to be noted that there is a coordination between the various portions of snap fasteners and their location, which increases the utility of the device and permits the modified form to be rolled from either end. This feature lends durability to the device as the repeated rolling of the device from the same end would eventually tend to wear the device considerably and press it out of its normal shape.

W hile I have illustrated and described the preferred form of structure I do not wish to limit myself to the precise forms shown but desire to avail myself of such Variations and modifications as come within the scope of the appended claim. i

Having thus described my invention what I claim as new and desire to secure A bag of the class described comprising a pair of side walls; end walls a partition extending between said side walls, and

by Letjoined at one end, along its edge, to one end of one of said side walls, and along its edge at the opposite end to the other of said side walls to provide a pair of separate pockets; a flap forming extension on the open end of each of said side walls, adapted for folding over into engagement with the other side wall for closing the open end of said pockets, and for folding vbackwardly upon the side wall from which eXtending;a double faced female portion of a snap fastener mounted on each of said flaps, a face of said female portion projecting from eachside of said flaps; and means mounted on said side walls for engaging said female portion for retaining said flaps in folded position, each of said side walls being doubled upon itself, bellows-like, when said bag is collapsed.
