1 Claim.

This invention relates to kits, and particularly to a kit useful for hunters, scouts, hikers, campers, soldiers, sailors, and others. The device is not bulky, capable of being carried in either a hip or a breast pocket without undue bulkiness, and Which kit is adapted to hold many implements of use for toilet purposes. Such implements may include a safety razor, blades, comb, tooth brush, tooth paste, shaving cream, mirror, le, and other devices.

An object of the invention is the provision of a kit which. is neat in appearance, folds comparatively flat, of light Weight, durable, easily opened or closed, will protect the implements, and generally superior to kits 110W known to the inventor.

Other objects, uses and advantages of the invention will be apparent to those who use the kit.

With the above mentioned and other objects in view, the invention includes a kit which is simple of construction, and inexpensive in cost of manuiacture.

In the drawing, the improved kit is designated as an entirety by the numeral I, and the same includes a back 2, a cover 3 forming a continuation of the said back, and a pair of naps 4 and 5. Both the back and the cover are provided with marginal and end Walls 6 and l, and said walls in turn have secured thereto zipper lacing 8 and 9. These side walls may be inwardly `positioned from the marginal edges of the cover and back, as shown in Figure 1. vided with two members I and II, which form therebetween a series of pockets I2 formed by stitching the two members together as shown, for instance, at I3. A pocket is likewise provided at I 4 between the cover and member I.

The back 2 is adapted to have detachably secured thereto member I5. In particular, the back and the member I are provided with snaps I6 at spaced points so that member I5 may be removed from the back. Member I5 is provided with straps Il so formed as to best hold various implements, such as a razor, tooth brush, tooth paste, shaving cream, le, and the like. The flaps 4 and 5 are adapted to overlie the implements held by the member I5, the flap 5 overlapping the flap 4 and the said flaps being vpro- The cover is provided with interengaging snaps I8 at spaced points for holding the flaps in working relationship. When the snaps I8 coengage, the cover 3 may be closed over the flaps, and the lacer 8 and S, when moved, will lace the Zipper lacing as shown, for instance, in Figure 1. This lacing will secure the cover and back together.

The member I5 is preferably made of some stiff material so as to be form-retaining and thereby provide a means for preventing undue bending or deformation of any of the implements carried in the kit, resultant upon an attempted bending of the kt transversely. The various pockets are adapted to hold sundry implements, whereas the pocket I4 will house a metal mirror.

The operation, uses and advantages of the invention are undoubtedly apparent, in that the arrangement of the pockets and the straps for holding implements permits the kit to lie substantially flat, to be comparatively thin and thereby reduce bulkiness. Upon opening the aps, as illustrated in Figure 2, the member I5 may be removed along with the implements carried thereby, and the mirror may be taken from the pocket I4 and by reversing the position of the back relative to the cover, and standing the same, the mirror may be held in a position so that the user may readily employ the same for shaving.

The material used in the construction of the kit is unimportant, although it has been found expedient to use heavy canvas, buckram in some instances, and in other instances, leather or imitation leather.

The surface of the kit may be ornamented, if desired, as is self-evident.

I claim:

A kit of the character disclosed including a single piece of ilexible material adapted to be folded transversely on a medial line to form a back and cover, marginal edge flaps for the back and cover adapted to be connected by slide fasteners to form a closed receptacle, a plurality of pockets formed on the inner face of the cover, an article holding base of approximately the same size as the back detachably secured to the inner face of the same and having article retaining straps on its inner face, side aps on the back adapted to overlie the article holding base, detachable securing means on said flaps to conne the articles in place, and said varticle holding base being formed of relatively stiff material to prevent distortion of the flexible back and cover when the kit is closed.
