Description
I s. FOWDEN.
Injector.
No, 166,762, Patented Aug. 17,1875.
NJETERS, EHDTO-LITHOGRAPMER, WASHINGTON. D c.
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
SAMUEL FOWDEN, OF PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA.
IMPROVEMENT IN INJECTORS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 166,762, dated August 17, 1875; application filed July 17, 1875.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, SAMUEL FOWDEN, of Philadelphia,'in the county of Philadelphia and State of Pennsylvania, have invented a new and Improved Injector, of which the following is a specification:
The invention will first be fully described in connection with drawing, and then pointed out in the claim.
The drawing is a sectional elevation of my improved injector.
The steam is admitted through the annular opening 0, formed by the Water-tube B and mixing-tube D, while the water is admitted through the central tube B, the opening through which is regulated by the adjustable spindle A. A
The apparatus for lifting the water is shown at K. It consists of the valves G, with hollow stern H, steam-pipe J, and jet I. This lifting apparatus will not be necesssary when the water is taken from a supply as high as the injector.
Having thus described my invention, I
claim as new and desire to secure by Letters
