Associated with this clampin member is a rod 17 extending vertically through the central bar '18 of support 2, said rod having at its upper end a taper surface 19; and suitable spring means,
such as 20, are provided whereby said spring means normally tend to urge the member 17 away from the surface of the horn. Time mechanism, here represented as a rock member 21, is provided; and connected to this rock member is an actuating rod 22. slidably mounted in support 2 and having taper surface'23 complementary to taper surface 19, whereby it 'will be understood thatwhen rock member 21 is moved to the left (Fig. 3) rod 17 will be depressed against the action of spring 20 and the clamping member will firmly engage the horn.
Suitable gaging means are provided for meeting the front or leading edge of the incoming blank and to properly osition it on the horn; and these means, in tie present inblank in position.

Slides 25 are preferably carried on support 2 by means of slots 28 and pins 29, and spring means 30 is provided, acting against cross-bar 31 of the slides to normally urge said slides in the same direction as that of the feeding movement of the incoming sheet or blank. ,32 indicates a lever also actuated from rock member 21 to move the slides in opposition to spring 30 to thereby register the sheets.
It will now be understood that when a blank is fed to the horn, it comes against gages 27 that register it, after which the clamping member descends and clamps the Body-forming members now descend and fold the blank around the horn thereby, at the same time, bringing said blank out of the way of the gages.

Body-forming mechanism including a mounted on the clamp, intermediate the body-forming members to receive the frontedge of a blank fed substantially parallel to the axis ofthe horn, and timed actuating means to move the-gages in a direction opposite to that of the feeding movement of the blank and to bring the clamp into engagement'with theblank.
2. Body-forming mechanism including a horn, body-forming members to fold a blank around the horn, a clamping member above the horn and intermediate the body-forming members to engage the blank on the horn before it is acted upon by said body-forming members, gages above the horn and slidingly mounted on the clamp, intermediate the body-forming members to receive the front edge of a blank fed substantially parallel to the axis of the horn, timed actuating means to move the gages in a direction opposite to that of the feeding movement of the blank sliding connections between the clamp and the rock member, and a lever, also actuated by the rock member, to move the gages. a
3. Body-forming mechanism including a horn, body-forming members to fold a blank around the horn, a clamping member above the horn and intermediate the body-forming members to engage the blank on the horn before it is acted upon by said body-forming members, gages above the horn and slidingly mounted on the clamp, intermediate the body-forming members to receive the front edge of a blank fed substantially parallel to the axis of the horn, timed actuating means to move the gages in a direction opposite to that of the feeding movement oftheblank and to bring the clamp into engagement with the blank consisting of spring means for normally urging said clamping member away from the horn, a second spring means to normally urge the gages in the direction of the feeding movement of the blank, :1 rock member and sliding connections between the clamp and the rock member to overcome the action of the first spring means, and a lever also actuated by the rock member, to move the gages in opposition to the second spring means.
