L. GROM TOILET DEVICE Filed 061.. 2. 1926 2 Sheets-Sheet 2 INVENTOR ATTORNEY anon; on roan, it.
invention relates to certain new and useful toilet devices, such as aprons, head coverings and. the like, useful in massaging like.
"the head, dressing and dyeing hair and the The object of my invention is the production of toilet devices, which are cheap in first cost, cleanly, and which will protect thia body of the wearer against flowing or dripping water, dyes, oils and the like, when dyeing hair, andprotect it from hair in hair cutting, etc, facilitate the setting of hair dyes, and which when once used may be thrown away.
In practice, it has been usual to employ linen,
cotton, rubber or oilcloth aprons to protect the body and towels to cover the head,
to preservethe required heat" of the dye when applied to the hair, to efiect its setting.
This practice is inadvisable for many reasons, among which 'may be mentioned that the aprons and towels are generally stained by the dyes, and other articles used in facial treatments and the like, and never can b e cleaned by washing, so as to present a new and fresh appearance, with the result that used. articles are frequently re-used,
with danger of the cost of laundering such aprons,
sanitary infection. Besides, towels and the like is high, and a burdensome expense to beauty parlors and'the like, where such work is done.
use of my improved aprons and head fresh aprons and coverings may and then destroyed, the cost being materially less than that involved in the laundering of the well Fig. 1 is a front view o f my improved device.
Fig. 2 is also afront view with able'neckpiece.

Fig. 5 is aview of a portion of the material o t which the apron and head piece are area @ctoter e, was. aerial at. iaaoei.
made, illustrating the two diiierent surfaces.
The shape given to the apron, A, is prefer ably that shown in the drawing. 1 do not lln'llt' myself, however, to this shape. .The neck of the apron'is provided wlth a tape,
B, which may be fastened around the neckbf thewearer. The neckpiece, C, may be of any sultable shape, but preferably folded or fluted upon itself as shown and provided at D with a snap catch to attach it to the apron A, and at E with a snap catch to connect the en two'ends of the neckpiece, C, when in positlon on the wearer. Instead of tape, B, the snap as indicated at F may be used to connect the apron around the neck of the wearer. G indicates a cap or head piece which may be as given any desirable shape, preferably that which will enclose the head of the wearer as indicated at H.
In the inside of the neclrpiece, C, Fig. 2, and at the bottom of the head piece, G, Fig. 7o 4 is an elastic ortion, I, connected to the part 0 or G which serves to secure the part A or the part G closely around the neck or head of the wearer when the clas or tapes are fastened. The material whic I prefer to use consists of crepe paper having one surface J, plain or porous, as is the case with crepe paper, and the other side,K, coated to render it non-porous. In the case of the apron, I prefer that the underside shall be the coated side, and in the case of the head piece, the inner :sideshall be. coated. The coating of one side of the paper may be formed of any well known substance, as for instance, parafiin or a cellulose body, preferg5 ably one that is smooth and impervious when coming in contact With water or the usual fluids or medicinal preparations employed in massaging, dyeing and the like.
Having thus described my invention, I claim:
An apron consisting of paper coated on one side only to render it impervious to moisture and the other side being absorbent, saidapron being provided with means for securing said apron around the neck of the wearer.
. In testimony whereof, I aflix my signature.
LOUISE GROM.
