A TACHMENT roR' TOILET iaowns.
Application filed November from the back edge of the bowl and at such an angle as to impinge directly against the anus and without wetting adjacentport-ions Y of the body, my invention in no manner interfering with the normal operation of the bowl and being so positioned as to be free from contamination.
In carrying out my present invention the toilet bowl inwhich the fixture is fitted'for use is provided at the rear thereof with a transversely disposed bore adapted to receive and have secured therein the fitting to which the invention relates. This fitting comprises a tubular member adapted to extend into the said transverse bore in the rear of the toilet bowl, devices for engaging the tubular member and coacting therewith through the sides of the toilet bowl for securing the tubular member in position, together with a nozzle or projecting device adapted to be suitably connected to the tubular member in order to project a stream of water for the purposes intended from the rear toward the front of the bowl, as will be hereinafter more particularly described.
In the drawing Figure 1 is a partial sectional plan of the upper portion of a toilet bowl in which the present invention is incorporated.
Fig. 2 is a partial sectional elevation illustrating the structure shown in Fig. 1, and
Fig. 3 is a view similar to Fig. 2, showing anotherform of the invention.
Referring to Figures 1 and 2. I have here shown a third form of attachment embodying my invention which is applicable to a special form of toilet bowl. The bowl is indicated at 55 and is of identical. construction with a conventional bowl with the exception that the flange 16 is constructed orformed integral with a tubular member 56 extending longitudinally of the flange and substantially tangentially of the back endof the bowl. The opposite ends of the member 56 are open to permit the insertion of a supply connection therein. This connection comprises a tubular portion 57 provided at 12, 1925. Serial No. 68,680.
its outer end with a fitting. 58, by which the connection can be connected to a source of water supply. At the opposite end the tubular portion is formed with a solid extension 59 projecting from the opposite end of the member 56 and threaded to receive a nut .60 which co-operates with the fitting 58 to secure the supply connection as a unit within the tubular member.
The tubular member is formed at a point between its ends with an orifice 61 through which extends a delivery connection or nozzle 62 having detachable engagement with thetubular portion 5? for receiving water therefrom and for discharging water forprojecting above the flange and bowl is substantially flush therewith and is provided with an orifice 65 opening upwardly to permit extending therethrough a delivery connection 66 including a forwardly and upwardly inclined nozzle 67 This delivery connection is detachably associated with a special connection 68 fixedly secured within the tubular member and'substantially of the spirit and scope of the appended claims.
I claim as my invention: 7
1. In an'apparatus of the class described, a bowl, a tubular fitting extending transversely into a bore at the rear of the bowl, means at the ends of the fitting for coacting with the same and the sides of the bowl for securing the fitting in the transverse bore of the bowl, and a nozzle extending through an auxiliary bore in the bowl and connected to the tubular fitting, the said nozzle being adapted to lie in a position to direct a liquid passing therethrough from the rear toward the front of the bowl. v
2. In an apparatus of the class described, a bowl having a transverse bore at the upper rear portion thereof, a. tubular fitting 3 extending into the said bore, an extension of the fitting also lying in the said bore, means for engaging the outer end of the fitting and the outer end of the extension of the fitting for coacting between the same and the sides of the bowl for securing the fitting in position in the said bore, and a nozzle extending through an auxiliary bore in the bowl and connected to the said tubular fitting, the nozzle being adapted to lie in a position to direct a liquid passing therethrough from the rear toward the front of the bowl.
3. In an apparatus of the class described, a. bowl having a transverse bore at the upper rear portion thereof, a tubularfitting extending into the bore from one end thereof, a solid extension from the said tubular fitting adapted to project beyond the other end of the bore, an inlet connection secured to the outer end of the tubular fitting, a nut secured to the outer end of the solid extension, the said inlet connection and nut enthe bowl.
gaging the tubular fitting and the extension and the adjacent portions of the bowl to secure the fitting and its extension in the said bore, and a. projecting device extending the said bore, means for engaging the ends of the tubular, fitting and its extensionand also the adjacent portions of the bowl to secure the tubular extension in position in the bore, and a nozzle extending through an auxiliary bore in the bowl and connected to the tubular fitting, the said nozzle being adapted to lie in a recess provided therefor in the under portion of the said seat at the rear thereof to direct a. liquid passing therethrough from the rear towardthe frontof "'cEsARE o; CAMPUS,
