DENTAL CASTIFZIG- DEVICE.
Application filed September 13,1926. Serial No. 134,989.
e i n relates to devices tor facilcen ai casting purposes parti i ds of plaster of l in denti v'ded with m ans to normally retain the ejector in relative adjustment thereon.
Another aim is to provide a cap on the guide, limiting the movement relative to the handle, the ejector plate from moving l amount preventing outwardly evond the confines of the container and either providing a tightly clos d chamber adapted to receive and retain small objects as the nuggets Or the material to be cast in the molds.
These several advantages, together with other, such as convenience in manipulation, neatness of appearance and cheapness of construction, are accomplished by the novel construction and arrangement of parts hereiuatter described and shown in the accompanying drawing, forming a material part of this disclosure, and in which Figure 1 is a serspective iew of an embodiment oi"- the invention as reacy for operation.
Figure 2 is a longitudinzl sectional view taken on line 22 of Figure 1.
Figure 3 is bottom plan view of the device. 7
Figure 4: is atragmentary perspective view of the outer part of the container handle, showing the spring detent.
Figure 5 is a similar perspective view of the inner end of the ejector guide prior to attachment to the plate.
Beginning with the container, designated by the numeral 10, it Will be seen to consist of a cylinder open at one end and having a closed opposite end 11 disposed at a ri ht angle.
lhe diameter and length of the container may he made as required and the joint uniting the closed end 11 to the handle 12 may he of any preferred type whereby a i;-separahle connection is made; as shown end ll' has a central opening, the
edge ich is turned outwardly previ sauce in which received the eds-e lo;t head on one tube constituting the the opposite end of the tube is an audit 51' hand it? the portion of the tube Q thcrcliejv'ond heing slit to pro spring liictional detents 1T sprung inwardly ar the surface of the tubular 18, freely slidable within the .ornied on the inner end of the member plurality of prongs 19 arranged at Olllllj' spaced distances and adapted to nter lrresponding openings arr-a ged coir The prongs 19 may be upset or otherwise d within the openings or other ds of fastening be used, such for instar as spot welding.
The opoosite end of the guide 18 is exterior-1y screw threaded to tit within lznurled cap 21, the lower edge of which makes Contact with the outer end of the handle 12 limiting the movement of the ejec tor disc 20 to a point substantially level with the lower edge of the container 10.
The cap 21 also as a closure if r the tubular guide element 18 which thus pres s a closed chamber 2 to receive small ar Y les, tra' 'ments or nuggets of gold to be used in cas objects in the mold made in tile conta ier 10, the making of such molds being familiar to those versed in the art From th foregoing it will be seen that a neat and very convenient device has been disclosed in the preferred harm of its embodiinent but it to he uni erstood that the description and drawings are to be taken as illustrative rather than restrictive, as obviously minor modificat ons ma be made *ithout departing from the scope and spiritof the invention claimed.
Having thus described my invcntirni, What I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
l. A. dental casting device comprising a container having a rigid tuhular handle to receive objects, an ejector movable in said container, a guide for said ejector slidable in said handle, stop cap on said guide to contact with said handle when the ejector is in an outermost-position, and friction detents formed from said handle to engage said guide.
2. A dental casting device comprising a cylinder closed at one end and open at the other, a tubular handle extending axially from the closed end, a plunger snugly slidable in said cylinder, a hollow guide fixed on said plunger to extend outward beyond said handle, ascrew cap removahly engaged on said guide to "form a chamber adapted to receive articles therein said cap lii iiting the outward movement of said plunger, and a plurality of spring lingers formed at the outer end of said'handle t0 frictionally impinge on said guide. I
3. A dental castin device comprising a cylinder closed at one end and open at the other, said closed end having a central opening provided with an out-turned annular flange spaced above the end wall, a tubular handle having a bead enveloping said flange, a plunger disc slidably fitting said container, a hollow guide having prongs rigidly fixed on said plunger said guide extending through and beyond said handle a screw cap engaged on said guide to seaton the end of said handle when said disc is in its outermost position, said cap forming aclosure to the chamber i" .t guide, a raised band on said handle, an. a plurality of split spring fingers extending from said band to frictionally engage the surface of said guide to retain the same in an adjusted position. 7
