HINGED SUPPORT.

My invention relates to supporting mechanisms for doors, ironing-boards, breakfast tables and built-in devices for domestic purposes and consists primarily of a bearing plate adapted to being maintained` within a wall structure, a hinging member adapted to being placed upon the unit to being raised and lowered and a stop member, and a locking threaded member and a. washer.

A further object of my-invention consists in a new, novel and -efhcieut hinged support that may be easily appliedand one that will not easily get out of order.

A further object of my device consists in the relationship between Vthe bearing member and the hinging member and the stop member.

A further object of my invention consists in all of the units except the hinged member being out of vision.

A further object of my invention consists `in the simplicity of its construction and the ease with which the same may be applied or erected. i y

With these and incidental objects in view, the invention consist-s in certain novel features of construction and combination of parts, the essential elements of which are set forth in the appended claim and to a I preferred form of embodiment of which is hereinafter shown with reference to the drawings which accompany and form a part of this specification.

l is a. table to which has been attached a set of my hinged supports and 2, is a wall stationary member or plate attached to thestructure by suitable fastening means, which are here shown as screws. The wall plate 2 is placed in position by mounting it in a cut out portion in the wall structure. A hinging member or rocking plate 3 provided with a projecting hub 4, which is madeV to rotate within a suitable journal within the wall member 2, and which is held in place by a collar 5, having a bolt 6, passing therethrough and threaded into the hub 4. There is a projecting or sto arm 7 extending rearward and adapted to engage with `a stop lug 8 secured to the wall structure in the line of movement of the arm 7, and is held by suitable yfastening means, as screws. The stop 8 is preferably inserted into the wall structure to lend additional bearing strength to the same.

coming within the scope of the claim which said plate within the area embraced by said enlargement; a second plate provided with oneflat face abutting one rof the dat faces of the wall plate;` anannular hub projecting fromk the aforementioned face of the second plate and penetrating the aforesaid bearing; means retaining said hub within said bearing; said second plate beinglr provided With a paii` of parallel spaced leaves projecting at right angles from the side opposite the aforementioned flat side, ineluding means on said leaves to secure an element to be supported thereby therebetween;

and a longitudinally extending` arm formed in alignment with Said Second plate, adapted for engaging a stationary member tliere- 10 by limiting the pivotal movement of the last mentioned plate relative to the first mentioned plate.
