STBAINER HOLDER.
Application filed May 18, 19%. serial No. 19595390.
This invention relates to holders for folaminated, reticulated and perforated bodies.
An object of the invention comprehends clamping members for the bodies.
Another object of the invention contemplates handle members for the clamping members.
A further object consists of a locking member carried by the handle members to prevent displacement of the clamping memhere.
More specifically stated the handle mem bers are operatively connected to preserve the locking fit of the clamping members and to prevent loss.
With the above and other objects in view, the invention further consits of the following novel features and details of con struction to be hereinafter more fully described, illustrated in the accompanying drawing, and pointed out in the appended claim.
In the drawing:
Figure 1 is a top plan view of the invention.
Figure 2 is a side elevation thereof.
Figures 3 and at are fragmentary perspectives of the invention arranged in the respective positions for receiving and clamp ing straining material thereon.
Referring to the drawing in detail, where in like characters of reference denote corresponding parts, the reference character 10 indicates acircular loop provided with spaced parallel handle members 1].. That portion of the loop diametrically opposed to the dispositions of the handle members 11 is provided with an outstanding looped portion 12, the purpose of which will be presently apparent.
A circular loop 13 being adapted to frictionally engage the inner sides of the looped end has the handle portion l l thereof extended between the handle members 11. tdaid handle member 14 terminates to provide a looped portion 15 adapted for connection with the handle members 11 by hook portions 16 upon the adjacent extremities thereof.
A keeper or locking ring 17 is slidably mounted upon the handle members 11 and it respectively.
In the use and operation of the invention it is clearly understood from the disclosure of the invention as illustrated in Figures 3 and i of the drawing that a length of material, such tS indicated at 18, and which may be foraminated, reticulated or perforated, is extended through the loop 10 and having the side edges thereof extended clownwardly thereover. The bulge for the strainer is thus formed by pushing a portion of the material through the loop. The loop 13 is then called into use and moved to the position as illustrated in Figure 4; of the drawing from an original position formally occopied in i igure 3 of the drawing. The
lteeper or loching ring 17 is then shifted to the respective positions as illustrated in Fig ures 1 and i respectively to sustain the ring 13 within the ring 10 whereby the overlapping edges of the material 18 will be rigidly gripped and held against displacement irrespective of the weight and density of the substance poured within and strained througl'i the material 18. The looped portion 12 is utilized to su ort the device upon one side of the receptacle while the handle portions 11 and 14 respectively, will engage an opposed side whereby the same will be supported in position for use.
The invention is susceptible of various changes in its form, proportions and minor details of construction, and the right is herein reserved to make such changes as prop erly fall within the scope of the appended claim.
Having described the invention, what is claimed is:
A holder comprising a circular loop provided with spaced parallel handle members, a second loop adapted for interfitting engagement within the aforementioned loop and having the handle portions thereof twisted one upon the other to provide a common handle member extended between the handle portions of the first mentioned loop, a ring carried upon the extremity of the common handle member, the adjacent ends of the first mentioned handle members being looped upon said ring, and a keeper slidably mounted upon the handle members to preserve interfitting engagement of the loops.
In testimony whereof ll aflix my signature.
FRANK B. MASUOKA.
