Further, said invention has forv its object to provide an apparatus of the character specified in which said molding machines are arranged angularly relative to each other in position to form the angularly disposed portions of the wall, and in which one or more curved plates are interposed between said machines to provide an intermediate, mold chamber for forming the intermediate or corner portion of the wall and for imparting to certain of the surfaces ot' said corner portion a curvature corresponding to the curvature of said plate or plates.
Further said invention has for its object vto provide an apparatus of the character specified in which molding machines having slidable extensions thereon are arranged angularly relative to each and are adapted to tormthe outer or angularly disposed portions of the wall, and in which a curvedv plate, or plates, is interposed between said eX- tensions and detachably connected thereto to provide an intermediate adapted to form the corner portion of the wall and to impart a curvature to certain of the surfaces of said corner portion corresponding to the curvature of said plate or plates.

Referring to the drawings, I have illustrated as one example, my invention applied to molding or wall building machines or- 'apparatus of the type shown, described and claimed in, the Van Guilder Patent No. 1,250,394, granted December 18, 1917, al though other types of wall molding or building machines or the like may be employed.
Each of the wall molding machines and 11 illustrated comprisesouter walls 12, 12 having hopper extensions or portions 13 at the upper edgesthereot. The walls 12, 12 are supported bytheuprights or brackets 14, 14 secured to the outer sides thereof at the ends and extending upwardly through the hopper portions 13,
Relative movement of the outer walls or members 12, "12 away from andtowards each other, is effected by means of the angle irons or members 15 and 16"disposed one upon the other and arranged in'pairs-at the opposite ends ot each machine. The members 15 and 16' are maintained" in slidingrelation by means of the bolts 17carried by the lower members 16 and operating in the slots 18of the upper members 15.
The'brackets OIlIlGHlbGIS 14 and 14 are secured at their upper ends'to the outer faces lIi of the sliding members 16 and by means of bolts or other suitable securing means 19.
Intermediate the outer walls 12, 12 of each machine '10 and. 11 is disposed a collapsible core COIlSlShlI'lg ot the walls 21, 2.1 having inwardly directed overlapping tlann'e portions 22 which substantially close the core to prevent access ot the plastic material to the interior thereof, the overlapping portions 22 being in slidable engagement to permit ol the relative movement of the walls 21, 21 towards and away from each other.
The walls 21, 21 are supported by means of the uprights or brackets 23, 2 L secured to the inner 'laces of said walls 21, 21" at the ends thereof and carried by and secured to the slide bars 16 and 15 like the brackets 14. 14' are.
Relative movement between the walls ol each machine is el't'ected by means of an actuating member 25 having arms 26 pivoted at their ends 27 to the lower slide bars 16 at corresponding ends thereof. Links 28 are pivoted at corresponding ends 29 to the opposite ends of the upper slide bars 15, and at their opposite ends 30 said links are pivotally connected to intermediate portions of said arms 26.
- The swinging of the actuating member 25 moves the walls 12 and 21 and the Walls 12 and 21 in opposite directions, the actuation of said member 25 in one direction moving the walls 12, 12 inwardly and the walls 21., 21 outwardly,.and the actuation of said member 25 in the opposite direction causing the reverse movement of said walls.
Each, core 20 is maintained in operative position against inward movement of the walls 21, '21 thereof by suitable bracing means, such as that illustrated in said Patent No. 1,250,394,, which is controlled by the members 31 pivotally connected at 32 to the links 28.

When the mcmbm 25 actuated in the opposite direction, the bracing means serves to prevent inward movement of said walls 21, 21 during the tamping of the plastic material in the spaces or molding chambers intermediate the inner and outer walls of said machines.
Each machine 10 and 11 is rovided with auxiliary wall portions or slide plates 33 and s4 guided between the uprights 14, and 14 and walls 12 and 12, and serving as ex tensions for said walls to provide a mold chamber beyond the ends of the machine. The slides 33 and 3 1 are preferably removable from the machine so that extensions or slides of other lengths or types may be substituted. therefor. Each slide 33 and 3% eral eyes 39 thereon arranged in vertical alignment so that the slides on two machines may be suitably connected to tori'u a corner portion of the wall to be constructed as hereinafter described.
As shown at Figs. 1 to 4 a pair of: machines may be employed to form corners, pilasters, chimneys, Flues or other portions, the machines being arranged at ,various'am glcs according to the angularity oi the wall portion to be formed, or zurcording to the character of the portion to be constructed.
'My invention permits of the use ofthe ordinary machines, 1 such as employed to term the straight portions of the wall, in the construction 01' silos and the like. I-Ieretott'ore in practice a special type of machine having semi-circular walls has been emiloyed in the construction of silos or other cylindrical buildings. The cost of a, complete equipment for building all types of buildings or walls including silos *as therelore relatively large. My invention reduces the number of machines necessary to form a complete equipment, and hence, reduces the cost of such equipment.
To effect the economy above mentioned, I
construct the silo or other building as illus trated at Fig. 5 with corner portions having rounded or curved inner and outer surfaces l0, 40 and straightintermediate portions 41, it being essential that at least the inner surtacos 410 of the corner portions of the buildi up be curved or rounded so that the ensilage, fodder, or other material storedwithin the building will not be caught or otherwise retained in any angular portions or sharp corners thereof. The structure illustrated at Fig. 5 is of concrete or thelike and is pro vided with a contimious air space 42 intermediate the wall portions thereof.
In order to form the rounded or curved corner portions of the wall to be constructed employing machines such as herein illustrated, the latter are arranged at right angles to each other with the COII'GSPOIldiIIg slidable plates 33 and 3% extended as required.

In order to form an air space within the corner portion of the wall to be constructed a suitable angular core 48 is disposed be tween thewalls of the corner forming mold chamber in alignment with the cores 20 of the machines and 11, the core 48 cooperating with the cores to form a continuous air space around the structure formed or constructed.
As illustrated at Fig. 3, if desired, the
out-er curved plate 43 may be omitted and the outer sliding members or plates 33 of the machines 10 and 11 directly connected by the connecting member 49 provided with projections adapted to engage in the eyes 39. The angle iron 47 is disposed vertically within the angle formed by the connected plates 33. The inner curved plate 44 is disposed in position in the manner described in connection with Figs. 1 and 2. The arrangement illustrated at Fig. 3 permits of the production of a corner wall portion havin an angular outer surface and a curved inner surface.
At- Fig. 4 is illustrated another form of my invention in which either the inner pair or both pairs of sliding plates or extensions 33 and 34 illustrated at Figs. 1 to 8 are replaced by sliding plates or extensions 33 and 34*" having curved outer end portions 51. To provide the intermediate mold chamber for forming the rounded corner wall portion, the plates 33 and 34" are extended until the ends thereof engage, and the same are then locked or secured together by the cooperating locking devices 51 illustrated or by other suitable means. I
In operation, either machine 10 or 11 or both may be employed in constructing the straight portions of the wall to be formed. When the corner port-ion is to be formed, the machines are disposed at an angle relative to each other, and actuated to place the same in operative position. The curved plate or plates 43 and 44 are then disposed in position between the slides 33 and 34 to provide the intermediate -mold chamber. After themachines have been-actuated to place the walls thereof? in operative position, the core 48 is placed in position.
The plastic material or concrete is now introduced into the mold and suitably taniped. After the corner port-ion of the wall has beenformed, the core 48 and plates 43 and 44 are removed and the machines actuated'to disengage the same from the newly formed portion of the wall to permit oftheremovalor. movement of said machines without damaging the surfaces, of the wall.
It is to be noted that in my said invention the machines employed to form the straight portion of the wall may also be employed to. form either rounded orangular corner portions. of the wall.v These machines are readily adaptedto form rounded or curved corner wall portion .byins'erting between the extensions or slides thereof the curved plates above described, or by. replacing the ordinary slides thereof by the slides having outer curved portions, the former arrangement, that illustrated at Figs. 1 to 3, being the preferred form as the plates 43 and 44 may be more readily placed in position and removed without disturbing the position of the machines.
My invention permits of the construction of silos or the like having rounded corner portions, and possessing all of the advantages of the ordinary cylindrical silo, With the ordinary apparatus employed for form- I ing straight Wall portions. Having thus described my said invention, what I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:
1. The combination of a pair of molding machines arranged angularly relative to each other, and each including parallel members providing a wall molding chamber therebetween, and means for actuating the Wall molding members of each machine to move the same to and from operative position, with members slidable on and connecting said machines and providing an intermediate molding chamber for forming the corner portion of the wall; certain of said last named members including a portion having a curved inner surface, whereby to impart a corresponding curvature to the contiguous surface of the corner portion of the wall to be formed in said intermediate mold chamber.
2. The combination of a pair of molding machines arranged angular-1y relative to each other, and each including wall forming members and members slidable thereon adapted to form extended. wall molding chambers therewith, and. means'fcr actuating the wall forming members of each machine to move the same to and from operative pos1t1on,W1th
.aplate disposed between and connected to plate having a curved inner surface for imparting a corresponding curvature to the contiguous surface of the corner portion of the Wall to be formed in said intermediate molding chamber.
The combination of a pair of molding machines arranged angularly relative to each other, and each including Wall forming members and members slidable thereon adapted to form extended Wall molding chambers therewith, with a curved plate disposed intermediate the ends of certain of said slidable members, and means for detachably securing said plate thereto.
4. The combination of a pair of molding machines arranged angularly relative to'each other and each includingparallel members providing a Wall forming chamber therebetween, and members slidable on said firstnamed member to form extensions thereof, and means for actuating the Wall forming members of each machine to move the same to and from operative position with a separate plate disposed between the ends ott the inner slidable members of said machines, means for detachably securing said plate thereto; said plate having a convex inner surface for imparting a corresponding cur- 'ature to the inner surface of the corner of the Wall to be formed, and means for detachably securing the outer of said slidable mem bers together.
