The invention relates to key controllers and more particularly to controllers of this kind for writing machines orthe like. The object of the invention is toenable the pressure to be reduced that has to .be' applied to a key in operating such machines. 7 This is accomplished by associating with the parts (which otherwise-would have to be moved by *the force applied to the de 'ressible keys) a cam which is caused by epression of the key to be engaged by a power device, suchas a continually revolving cylinder or drum, soas 'to be operated thereby. A feature of the invention consists in the cam and its detain-- ing means beingarrange'd so that the cam is stopped whenever it has'performed the operations assi ed to it and is then held station.- ary eveni the key by which it was; caused to engage with the powerdevice is-kept depressed or in anoff normal position.
