Now referring to the modification illustrated in Fig. 5,`the elements that function thesame as those described above are indicated bythe same referencecharacters with the addition of the letter a 1t will be seen that the only difference between this modification and the construction above described is that the band is of sectional construction, the sections being indicated at 32, 33. These sections are movably connected by a hinge shown at 34. This form ofthe invent-ion operates the same as that shown in Figs. 1 to 4, excepting that the band 11a `expands a little more freely than the band 11, owing to the provision of the hinge 34. v

Now :referring more particularly tothe modification of the invention illustrated in Figs. 6 and 7, the parts that function the same as those described above in connection with Figs. 1 to 5 are indicated by the samev vthe pins 24b passing through holes 26b in the ears 2Gb and through slots 28b in the ears 19h, said slots opening to the ends of they ears 19b so that, when it is desired to open theV holder the wing nuts V31b'wil1 be 361 of the canteens project when the holder is closed. 2. A canteen set comprising a split band, supports formed, on the bottom of said band and provided with recesses, a canteen within the'band having feet projecting intothe recesses, and releasable means to contract the banden the canteen.

3. A canteen set,comprising a split band, a canteen within the band havinga spout on its periphery, and a member movably connected with one endv of said band and releasably connected with the other end of said band and'covering and protecting said spout.

4. A canteen set comprising a split band,

a canteenwithin the band having a spout on its periphery, releasable means connected with the ends of the band for contacting the band on the canteen, and a member connectedr with the ends ofthe said band vand with the said releasable means for covering and protecting the said spout.
