In Figures 5 and 6 we have illustrated a,
inodilied construction in which the metal ring B is not imbedded in insulating material but bushings N-N respectively are inserted in holes in the ring, and the tops of the bushings are flanged to provide a fiat surface on which the Hat band terminals E-E respectively may rest, the holes through the bushings serving the same tunetion as theholes DD serve in the construction shown in Figures 3 and 4.
By the construction above described lirm and durable device is provided that will give plenty of area of contacting surface between Ythe round wire heating element and Hat band terminal and. with the round wire conductors L.
The construction also permits ot easy assembling of the parts, and removes all danger `of burning out at the points of contact of the terminals.
Having thus described our invention, we claim as new:
l. An electrical heating device comprising a tube, a ring mounted on said tube, insulating material carried by said ring` Vand having holes therethrough, a terminal wire extending through one oi said holes in one direction and into one of said holes adjacent thereto in the opposite direction to form a hook-shaped terminal.
2. An electrical heating device comprising a tube, a ringmounted on said tube, insulating material carried by said ring and having holes therethrough, a terminal wire having a flattened'surfaceextending through one of said holes in one direction and vinto one of said holes adjacent thereto in the opposite direction to form a hook-shaped terminal.
3. An electrical heating device comprising a tube, a ring mounted on said tube, insulating material carried by said ring and having holes therethrough, a terminal wire having a flattened sur'i'ace extending through one of said holes in one direction and into one of said holes adjacent thereto in the opposite direction to form a hook-shaped terminal, a conductor leading to said terminal and means for holding said conductor in overlying contact relation with said flattened surface. i

A heating device comprising a central tube. a metal ring ixed on s aid tube, insulating material on said ring having holes therethrough, a heating element on said tube, a cap, conductors extending through saidl cap, and flat terminal bands extending through said holes in the ring to-connect said Conductors and said heating element together to provide an unbroken circuit.

A'heating device comprising a central tube, a metal ring tixed on sai-d tube, insulating material on said ring, a heating element on said tube, a cap, conductors extendj ing through said cap, and flat terminal bands extending through said'ring which connect said conductors and said heating element together to provide an unbroken circuit, the ends of said bands and conductors being formed hook-shaped and means tor holding the cap to the ring.

A heating ydevice comprising a central tube, a metal 'ring iixed on said inclosing tube, `insulating` material on said ring, a heatingl element carried by said tube, terminal bands connected tothe ends of said heating element and extending through said insulating material, a cap and conductors, the ends ot which are held in contact with said terminal bands by said cap.

A heating device comprising a central tube, a ring of insulating material thereon, a heating` element,terminals of lower electrical resistance than that of the heating elementV connected to the heating element and extending through the ring and resting on the insulating material, a cap, conductors extending through the cap, the ends of which rest on the terminal elements in 'tree separable relation thereto, and means for holding the cap to the ring.
9. An electrical heating device comprising a metal ring entirely inclosed in insulating material, and having holes leading therethrough, a cap connected to said ring by screws which extend through the cap and screw into the ring, a tube on which said ring and cap is mounted between its ends,
a heating element carried on said tube, the
ends of which arey providedwith tlat metal band portions which extend through said ring and rest on the top side thereof and are held between said ring and cap by said screws; and electrical conductors extending through said cap and held in Contact with said band conduetorsby said cap. i
