Application filed August 30, 1926. SerialNo; 132,502.
The present invention relates to a campers back-rest and has for its principal object to provide a structure whereby a person may sit on the ground without soiling .the clothes andmay have a comfortable backrest. 1
Another very important object of the in vention lies in the pro-vision of a structure of this nature which may be folded into a compact form so as to be conveniently carried about in an automobile or the like.
i still further very important object of the invention lies in the provision of a campers back-rest which is exceedingly simple in its construction, strong and durable, efficient and reliable, easy to manipulate, in-
expensive to manufacture, and otherwise well adapted to the purpose for which it designed.
With the above and numerous other ob jects in View as will appear as the description proceeds, the invention resides in certain novelties of construction, and in the combination and arrangement'of parts as will be hereinafter more fully claimed.
In the drawing:
Figure 1 is a perspective view of the campers back-rest showing the same ready for use,
Figure 2 is a perspective of the device folded.
Referring to the drawing in detail it will be seen that the letter F denotes generally a rectangular frame including a pair of spaced parallel sides 5, a cross member 6 at one end of the-sides and a cross member 7 adjacent the other end of the sides.- A roller 8 is journaled in said other end of the sides 5 and has pins 9 or other suitable'elements at its ends which prevent the displacement of the roller but allow it free rotation. A piece of canvas or similar material is indicated by the numeral 10 and has one end suitably fixed to the roller 8 so that it may be extend- 7 ed as shown in Figure 1 or rolled up about the roller as is shown in Fig. 2. A prop structure is indicated generally by the letter P and includes a. pair of prop legs 11 pivoted atone end as at 12 to intermediate port-ions of the sides 5 adjacent the end across which the cross member 6 is disposed. The spring described and ends the prop legs 11'are provided with A cord, rope,

A devlce of the class described, lncluding,
in combination, a rectangular frame, aprop' structure pivotally engaged with an intermediate portion of the frame, I a flexible member having ends piercing openings in the sides and said ends knotted, said prop strucapparent that numerous changes in the deture being provided with notches for receiving. intermediate portions of the flexible I member sothat said flexible member will function as a brace betweenithe frame and prop structure, a roller j ournaled in -one end of the frame and a flexible seat engaged with said, roller. In testimony whereof I afli'x my signature.
