DISPLAY DEVICE FOR WATER BOTTLES.

Application filed January 21, 1927. Serial No. 162,511.

My said invention relates to an advertising or display device for use 1n connection with rubber water bags or hot water bottles as they are customarily termed.

The invention aims to provide a simple and economical attachment which maybe readily applied to the bag prior to its belng placed in its display carton for shipment and which will retain its position thereon and which, when supplied with the customary advertising matter such as makers name, or

(and) trade-mark, price, etc.. will present a distinctive and unique appearance.

With these and other objects in View the invention includes the novel article hereinafter described and defined by the appended claims.

In order that the invention may be better understood, I have shown it in the accompanying drawings in connection with a water bag located in its display carton, it being understood that these bags are packed for the trad-e in individual'boxes or cartons in which they may be displayed'in store windows and the like by removal of the cover.

In this drawing Figure 1 is a plan view of the box with the bag or bottle therein carrying the display device or corner.

Referring by reference characters to this drawing the numeral 1 designates the carton which is merely a tray like box adapted to receive the customary cover (not shown). The bottle indicated by the numeral 2 is of customary form and is provided at top and bottom with apertured

3 and 3 having their side and bottom edges which are disposed in substantially triangular relation, connected by side and bottom cross webs or portions 3 This forms a substantially triangular pocketed member which can be slipped onto the corner of the bag and forms an attractive and unique display device, the top member having printed thereon advertising or other desired material.

Preferably this member 3 is provided with an integral triangular extension 3' which, together with the adjoining portion of the top member is printed to simulate a label as shown.

The bottom cross web 3 is provided with a slot 3 to receive the bottomtab 2 the, closed end of the slot serving to prevent the device from slipping off the bag.

I preferably make the device or corner from a single blank cut to the shape shown in Fig. 2, which is scored on lines 6 b and c c to form lines of fold.

The portion 3 of the blank below the fold line 0 is designed to overlap the lower edge of the member 3 and is provided with a tongue 3 adapted for insertion in the slot a of member 23*. Preferably the tongue has an enlarged portion as shown and a slot 9 which enables the two parts formed thereby to be overlapped, thereby narrowing the head of the tongue sufficiently to enable it to be inserted in the slot at whereafter it expands and is lock-ed in place.

I claim;

1. A advertising attachment for water bottles comprising spaced parallel sheet members having side and bottom edges disposed in substantially right angular relation and cross webs connecting said side and said bottom edges respectively, said members and'cross webs being formed from bottles comprising a pair of parallel sheet members of substantially the shape of a right angle triangle, and cross webs connecting the side and. bottom edges of the respec- Web integral with both members and connecting the side edges thereof, and a cross Web connecting the bottom edges, said last named cross web being integral with one of said members and having means for detachable connection with the other member.
