PATENT OFFICE.
EMBROIDERY-THREAD HOLDER.
Application filed April 19, 1926. Serial No. 103,013.
threads or skeins of various colors may bel supported to permit the -pro-perly colored thread to be readily withdrawn from the holder without requiring the separation from a mass of various colored threads7 the particular colored thread desired.
One of the main objects of the invention is to provide an embroidery thread holder of this character wherein skeins or single threads of various colors may be supported by the holder in spaced position so that the various Colored threads will no-t become jumbled into a mass and also in order that 2o the various colored threads may be reviewed at a glance, and the properly colored thread removed from the holder without interfering with the other threads thereon.
A still further object is to pro-vide means whereby skeins or single threads of various colors may. be readily attached to the holder and be maintained in position for ready removal therefrom.
Other objects will become apparent asthe nature of the invention is better under stood, the same comprising the novel form of embroidery holder hereinafter more fully described, shown in the accompanying `drawing and claimed.
In the drawing wherein like reference characters indicate corresponding parts throughout both of the views:
Figure l is a front elevation of an embroidery thread holder constructed in kaccordance with the present invention, the
same being shown as actually maintaining a` plurality of various colored threads in association therewith, and
Figure 2 is a detail section through the 4,5 holder per se.
Now having particular reference to the drawing, my novel embroidery thread holder constitutes the provision of a multi-ply strip of fabric 5 of suitable length" and width that is provided at its opposite ends withA lengths of ribbon 6-6 in order that saidl strip may be conveniently secured to the waist of an embroiderer, or to, if desired, a support. f
Said strip 5 consists of a front and rear ply 7 and S. respectively, and a center ply 9, the lower edge of which terminates within the lower edges of said front and rear plys 7 and 8. The three plys are. secured together by a row of stitching 10 at the upper edge thereof, and an additional row of stitching ll in spaced relation to said upper edge. Y
Between the lower edges of the front and lrear plys are secured spaced fabric tabs 12,
preferably by a row of stitching 13, said tabs consisting of overturned lengths of fabrics, the ends of which are arranged together and disposed between thelower edges of said front and rear plys 7 and 8 of the waist strip 5, as clearly disclosed in Figure 2. Y
Secured to the inner portions of the tabs 12 at the free ends thereof are certain memn bers of separable fasteners 14 that are adapted for interconnection with the other members 15 of said separable fasteners at the upper edge of the strip 5 in order that said tabs may be secured to the strip for retaining skeins or single variously colored threads A in hanging spaced relation, the detachable connection between the strip 5 and the tabs permitting of the ready hanging of the single threads or skeins upon said strip.
As disclosed in Figure l, the embroidery needle B may also be readily pinned into the strip 5 when not in use so as to prevent the misplacing of the same.
It will thus be seen that I have provided a highly novel, simple, and eiiicient form of embroidery thread holder that is well adaptl ed for all the purposes heretofore designated. Even though I have herein shown and described the same as comprising certain detail structural elements, it is nevertheless to be understood that modifications may be had without affecting the spirit and scope of the appended claims.
Having thus described the invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is l. An embroidery holder of the class described, a predetermined length strip 'of fabric, a plurality of thread supporting g l A Y Vineazfrizi fabric tabs Secured in spaced relation at one vend to a longitudinal edge of the stripyde- 10 end to a longitudinal edge of the Strip, and tachable connections between the opposite detachable connections between the oppoends of the tabs and the opposite longitudisite ends of the tabs and the oppositelongnal edge of the strip, and means at the 0p- V5 tudinal edge of the strip. posite ends of' the strip whereby the same o 2. An embroidery holder of the clase demay be secured to a support. ll scribed, a predetermined length strip of 1n testimony whereof I afIiX my signature. fabric7 a plurality of thread supporting v Y i fabric tabs secured in spaced relation at one JULIA NIGRO.
