IMPROVEMENT IN SHEET-MUSIC HOLDERS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 163,966, dated June 1, 1875; application filed January 23, 1875.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, BERNARD J BECK, of Brooklyn, in the county of Kings and State of New York, have invented an Improvement in Sheet-Music Holders, of which the following is a specification Heretofore it has been usual to make a music-roll of leather of a size that is larger than the page of music; and the music is laid upon the wrapper, and the two rolled up together. This wrapper-is expensive on account of its size, especially with the better qualities of leather.
My improvement is made for lessening the cost of the music roll or wrapper, and for rendering the same more convenient and available than heretofore.
I employ a spring-clasp for holding the roll of music; and the same is combined with the flexible wrapper of leather, or other suitable material, that is rolled around the spring-clasp and the music, and said wrapper is secured by a spring-catch or other fastening.
In the drawing, Figure 1 is a perspective view of the wrapper as opened out, and Fig. 2 is a cross-section of the roll.
