and claimed, it being understood that changes in the precise embodiment of the in vention herein disclosed, may be made within the scope of what is claimed, without departing from the spirit of the invention.

The numerall marks a hot water tank. The numeral 2 designates a looped conduit in which a heater 7 is interposed. One end 3 of the looped conduit is connected to the bottom of the tank 1. The other end 4 of the looped conduit is connected to the top of the tank. Water is supplied to the hottom of the tank 1 through a pipe5. A hot water delivery pipe 6 is branched off from the pipe 2. The numeral 8 designates a faucet controlling the flow of water through the delivery pipe 6.
Considering the device as above described, when the faucet 8 is opened to draw hot water, hot water flows downwardly in the pipe 2 from the top of the tank, and through the pipe 6, as is shown by the arrow 9. It happens, however, that water is drawn through the lower part of the pipe 2, and through the heater 7, in the direction marked by the arrows 10. The result is that cold water flows either from the bottom of the so tank 1, or from the pipe 5, or from both of these sources, and mingles with the water passing through the pipe 6, in the direction of the arrow 9, the water delivered through the faucet 8 being cooled off, the heater 7 being inadequate to raise the temperature of the water which flows in the direction of the arrows 10 through the pipe 6 and the faucet 8.
Having thus described the general construction of the device with which the present invention is to be used, and having pointed out the disadvantages to be overcome,- let consideration be given to those features of the invention which are shown in F igures'2, 3 and 4.
The casing 11 is mounted by threading or otherwise, as at 12, in the bottom of the tank 1, and the pipe 5 is mounted, as at 14, in one side'of the casing 11, the pipe oommunicating with the casing. In the lower end of the casing 11 there is a conical seat 15. A cap 16 is threaded on the lower end of the casing 11 and has an opening 17. Within the casing 11 is located a nozzle 18, the nozzle having a conical portion'19 received in the seat 15, the butt of the nozzle being cyllndrical, and being marked by the numeral 20, the butt having an outstanding shoulder 21. tends through the opening 17 in the cap 16,, and the cap cooperates with the shoulder 21 to hold the conical part 19 of the nozzle firmly engaged in the seat 15. Near to its upper end, and within the casing 11, the nozzle 18 has outwardly slanting openings 22. .The adjacent end of the casing 11 is flared in its bore, as shown at 23. The end of the nozzle 18 is closed'by a deflector 24,

The cold water, passing through the pipe 5, enters the casing 11, and moves upwardly about the nozzle 18. As the cold water passes by the inclined openings 22, there is a tendency to draw the water through the nozzle 18, from the pipe 2, in the direction of the arrows which are marked at 26. In a device of the class described, a casing having an open end, a nozzle within the casing and extended at one end beyond the open end of the casing, said end of the nozzle being closed and being provided with a no I 5 located closely adjacent to the open end' of the casing and disposed at an acute angle;
