This invention lrelates to thos'ewashing devices'which are intended to be disposed within an ordinary Clothes boiler and which clothes to thus dislodge'the dirt therefrom.Y
rllhe general v,object of the present invention is to provide a washing device of this character which is Vvery simplein construction, which is effective in use and particularly which is so constructed that it may be readily cleaned. y
My invention is illustrated in the accompanying drawings, wherein Y Figure 1 is a'vertical section of a clothes washer constructed in accordance kwith my invention, the clothes boiler being in section;
Fig. 2 is an elevation of the washer. Referring to these drawings it will be seen that my washing device comprises a chamber formed by la wall 10 having a de- I pending flange 11, this chamber being adapted to rest upon or be supported slightly above the bottom of an ordinary wash boiler A. Extending upward from the wall 10 of this chamber 'is a pipe 12, which has screw-threaded engagement with a boss13 extending upward from the wall 10. Detachably engaged with the upper end of the lpipe 12 is a cross pipe 14, this pipe having at its middle an interiorly threaded boss 15 engageable with the threaded upper v end of the pipe 12. The pipe 14 at its ends has screw-threaded plugs 16, having legs on their outer ends whereby a wrench may be applied to remove the plugs. The pipe 14 n is provided I with downwardl o enino' perforations 17. y I p This device in use is placed within va boiler, as illustrated in Figure 1, the boiling water is forced upward through thel pipe19J and along lthe pipe 14 and is discharged jets. 'Thus there is a continual circulation of boiling water through the clothes. The pipe 14 may be readily cleaned by removing the plugs 16. The pipeV 14 may be removed through the perforations 17 in the form of fromthe pipe 12 to permit this pipe torbe cleaned and if desired this pipe 12 may be removed from the inverted chamber 10.
I claim A clothes washer of scribed comprising a chamber open at the bottom and defined by a horizontally dis` p osed wall and depending flanges at the sides and ends of said wall, the'wall having dependingy lugs whereby to support 4the chamber in spaced relation from the bottoni of a wash boiler, an internally threaded boss formed on the upper side of the horizontal wall and disposed centrally thereof, a vertically `extending' pipe extending upward from the chamber and having its lower end threaded into said boss, a cross pipe hav-V ing an interiorly threaded boss forreceiving the upper end of said first named pipe and having a length approximately equal to the length of the chamber, removable plugs normally closing the ends of the cross pipe, the
under face of the'oross pipe having a plurality of spaced perforations therein,A In testimony whereof I hereunto aliix my signature. Y
