IMPROVEMENT IN DEVICES FOR HEATING WAGON-TIRES.
Specification forming; part of Letters Patent No 163,592, dated May 25, 1875; application filed March 13, 1875.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I; STEPHEN B. HOPKINS, of Oonneaut, Ashtabula county, State of Ohio, have invented an Improvement of Apparatus for Heating Tires, of which the following is a specification l The object of my invention is to rapidly heat tires of different dimensions by the use of my improved furnace F, having double circular walls, marked W WV on drawings. Two circular pipes perforated, marked P, are designed to supply the air to the furnace, to create an even, quick, and uniform heat surrounding the tire in furnace. The perforations for escape of the air into the tire within the furnace are marked ondrawings 0 O. V is the valve governing the air in its passage from the blower or bellows to the furnace.
I claim as my invention The improved tire-heating apparatus herein described and shown, consisting essentially of the annular metallic furnace F, and the two laterally perforated annular tubes P, connected thereto and to the main blast-pipe for supplying air to the furnace on both sides of the tire.
