COMPOSITION FOR CLEANING BRUSHES AND THE LIKE.

This invent-ion relates to improvements in compositions of matter, and the object of the invention is the production of a composition for cleaning brushes, particularly hand and paint brushes.
My composition consists of a mixture or common soap, sal soda, pumice stone, creoline, sugar, glycerine and Witchhazel.
In preparing the composition, I prefer to use the ingredients in about the following proportions Common soap, 1 lbs; sal soda, 1 lb.; pumice, 1 1b.; creoline (containing from twenty to thirty percent creosote oils in a resin soap solution), 2 oz. (fluid); sugar, 1 1b.; glycerine, 2 oz. (fluid); Witch-hazel, 1 oz. (fluid).
These ingredients are mixed as follows: To 2 quarts of pure Water, add 4 lbs. of soap, and boil for half an hour. Then add 1 lb. dissolved sal soda and pumicestone powder, mix thoroughly; allow to cool until the mixture becomes lukewarm, and then add the creoline which is insoluble in, but emulsifying in Water, sugar, glycerine Application filed September 11, 1924. and Witch-hazel. Allow the completed mix ture to become cool and then pass it through a screen With small orifices at 80 lbs. pressure.
The mixture is then ready for cleaningpaint brushes or hand brushes.
As many changes could be made in the above composition and many Widely different embodiments of my invention Within the scope of the claims, constructed Without departing from the spirit or scope thereof, it is intended that all matter contained in the accompanying specification shall be interpreted as illustrative and not in a limiting sense.
hat I claim as my invention is:
A composition for cleaning brushes and the like consisting of common soap, 4 lbs;
sal soda, 1 1b.; pumice, 1 lb.; sugar, 1 1b.;
creosote oils in a resin soap solution, 2 oz.; glycerine, 2 oz.; and Witch'hazel, 1 oz.
