My invention relates to projection lanterns i of a type which is especially adapted for use for motion plCtUI'QS.
In motion picture machines-heretofore the lamp housing has been adjusted with respect to the su porting or guide plate or with respect to t e optical axis of the objective lens bythe operation of thumb bolts that serve to securethe lamp housing to the guide plate; [1 Such an arrangement has been found to be awkward and slow. My invention conten1- plates the use of a construction by means of which such adjustments may be rapidly and conveniently made; 5 The means for accomplishing the foregoing are hereinafter more fully set forth and claimed, reference being had to the accompanyingdrawing.
Referring to the drawing'it will be seen that'Fig. 1 is a view in perspective. This view shows the adjusting mechanism in its relation to the guide or supporting plate and housing. A section of the guide plate is brokenawuy to more clearly illustrate the 5 details.

- Referring more in detail to the drawing, in Fig. 1 the housing 2 is shown at'the right of the supporting plate, which latter is adapted to be secured to the frame of the projector. The holes 4 are provided for this purpose; four guide slots 5. A .set of bolts 6 are also provided which are secured to the back part of the housing and which project through the slots 5 in" the guide plate These bolts are threaded and have winged nuts 7 between which and the housing the back of the-plate 3 is located. Between the upper nuts 7 and theplate, I provide an angle beam 8 serving as a cross-bar between the two upper bolts 6. This beam is in threaded engagement with a thumb bolt 10 which serves as a drag screw. This screw passes through the supporting angle plate 11. The two sides of this plate extend at right angles to each other. One of the sides is horizontally disposed and is provided with a groove 12 near the forward edge thereof which receives the upper edge 13 of the guide plate 3. The

I have not actually shown the reflector, light source, condensing lens aperture, or objective lens because these elements are well known and their relation perfectly understood.
While I have shown my invention in the form of a specific embodiment to comply with the requirements of the statutes, I wish it understood that I do not intend to be limited to the specific construction shown iuus- 'much as, in view of the disclosure, obvious modifications will readily suggest themselves to those familiar with this art without departing from the spirit of my invention or the scope of the claim herein. What I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent of the United States, is z- In a projector, a frame, a housing, an up right plate ada )ted to be screwed to the frame ofthe pro ector, guide openings in the plate, a pair of bolts projecting through said guides, a cross beam suspended between ill) said bolts behind the plate whereby the housing may be raised and lowered by raismg and lowering said beam, and sliding said bolts in said guides, a support for said beam in the form of-anengle piece with one leg of the piece supporte by the plate and the other leg of the piece resting against saidv beam and in sliding engagement therewith, 5 and a threaded jeleme'nt between the piece and the beam for raising and lowering the beam and; thereby operating the housing, said threaded element being supporteci by the angle piece and in threaded engagement with said beam. 10
