PATENT OFFICE.
ALEXANDER WESCHKE, OF BERLIN-SCHONEBERG, GEBMANY.-.
GYMNAS'IIO IMPLEMENT.
Application filed March 17, 1926, Serial No. My invention relates to gymnastic implements and more particularly to a training device comprising a handle and a mass or weight resiliently connected to said handle by a rod, spring or the like. It is an object of my invention, among others, to provide a device of the kind described allowing to vary the vibrations or oscillations imparted to the weight by swinging the device.
To this endI divide the usual rod con-, necting the handle with the weight into two parts and I connect these parts by a coil spring.
In the drawings affixed to this specification and forming part thereof a device embodying my invention is illustrated diagram matically by way of example. V
Referring now to the drawings, h and h are rods or tubes which are connected by a coil spring 7 On the rod h, which may be of metal tubing, there is secured a handle 0 that the position of the handle 0 on the rod h may be varied. The other part it carries a weight b. The two parts h and h are connected by a coil spring f which is preferably secured on the threaded adjoining ends 9 and g of the parts it and h respectively. The weight b is held on the part h in any desired position by a setscrew (Z and a disc 6 which is screwed into the end of the part it. The disc 6 and the setscrew cl cooperate to hold 95,451, and in Germany November 18, 1924.
the weight 1) against leaving the part it. The amplitude and the frequency of the oscillations of the device can'be varied by exchanging the spring f for a spring of other, greater or smaller, resilience, but obviously a variation may also be obtained by exchanging the weight I) or by displacing the die 0 after unscrewing its setscrew 2'. The spring 7 is readily exchanged by turning the threaded ends 9 and g of the parts h and 72/ out of it. 7
I wish it to be understood that I do not desire to be limited to the exact details of construction shown. and described, for obvi- 'ous modifications will occur to a person skilled in the art. I
I claim;
1. Gymnastic and a weight, separate rods secured to said handle, and to said weight, and a resilient connection between said rods.
han-
device comprising a handle 2. Gymnastic device comprising a handle and a weight, separate rods secured to said handle, and to said weight, and a coil spring connecting saidrods. V
8. Gymnastic device comprising a handle and a weight, separate rods secured to said handle, and to said weight, and anexchange able coil spring connecting said rods.
In testimony whereof I atiix my signature.
ALEXANDER wnscrntn.
