This invention relates to a cleaning device, more particularly to a revolving brush mechanism with means for feeding water and soap or other cleaning fluid in proper proportions to the brush. c c

One feature consists in the means for revolving the brush 'to give to the surface or body to which itis applied a slight massagf ing effect, and atthe same time to be free to move the brush to any position over the body to be cleaned.. Another' `feature of the invention comprises 'means `for feeding Water and a cleaning fluid in suitable proportions to the brush. The invention may be used for cleaning different object-sk and among which may be mentioned glasses that are used in public places for instance those for soda water Vstands and the like, the invention may also be used for massaging the scalp and skin of the user.

Referring to the drawings, Fig. 1 shows an elevation of the cleaning device, partly in vertical axial section, and Fig. 2 shows a bottom plan view of a detail.`

.Referring now to Figs. 1 and 2, the brush preferably ,consists of a rubber plate with fingers 2 and holes 3 constituting a rubber brush. A concavcd holding plate 5. is indicatedA with the holes 4 and the nipple 6, which latter is inclined to the normal axis of saidrplate. The rubber plate 1 is detachably supported or fastened to the holding plate 5 and the holes 4 register with the holes 3. A container 7 for cleaning material is detachably fastened at its lower end to the nipple 6 and its upper end to the re volving hollow shaft 8. The latter is supported in the ball bearings of the water container 10. The water container 10 is provided wi th the bottom plate 11 having a plurality of holes12 through which the water may flow to the holding plate 5. The water may be supplied through a flexible hose 13, attached at the hollowl handle 14 of the water container 10. To provide proper bearings for the rotating shaft 8 in addition to theball-bearings 9, a projection 14 on the cleaning fluid container 7 is detachably supported in a bearing 15 in the center of the cover 11.

The means for revolving the shaft 8 consists ofthe electric motor 1G fastened to a suitable support such as a wall 17. lThe shaft of this motor is coupled by means of worm gears in the Ihousing 18 to a flexible shaft 19 enclosed in the flexible hose 20.

The latter is connected at its end to the housing 18 and at its'bottom end is the sleeve 48 at which latter point the flexible shaft 19 is coupled to the rotatable shaft 8.

The outline of an electric switch is shown y with the pull socket 22.

yA flexible cord 23 on the reel 24, has one end fastened to any suitable support near the motor. The flexible cord 23 is wound on the reel 24, by means of the handle 25 and to one end is attached the pliw `26, that may be secured to any Vconvenient lamp socket or similar outlet.

The cleaning fluid dispensing means is providedl with'a valve 30, which may be closed by hand over the opening 31, coacting with the air vinletl 32 in the shaft 8, atfsuch times when the flow of the liquid froml the container 7 is not desired. `Vhen the air can'enter the shaft the fluid in the container 7 drops by gravity.

The operation of this mechanism is as follows: f

The container 7 may be lled with cleaning fluid through the opening in the nipple 6. When the motor 16 is started the water is caused to flow from the supply into the container 10 and from the latter through the holes 12 and over the plate 5. The water then flows through the holes 4 and over the d edges of the brush 1 on to the body to be cleaned. Sufficient cleaning fluid will at the .same time be dispensed through the opening 35 to mix with the water and produce a suitabl-e lather. Zhen sufficient fluid has been suppliedfthe closing of valve 3() will stop the flow due to the shutting off of the air supply through the inlet 32. The holding plate 5 may be detached from thelmtiomplate 11, so that the cleaning device may be used without said plate 5 and its rubber brush. In a cleaning device the con'ibination of a water container having holes for the discharge of water, meansv .feed water to the container, a. container yfor a cleaning' fluid within the water container, a hollow shaft connected to the inner container and extending through one end o'f the water container with its axis in alignment with the axis of the water container; a holding plate below the water container, a nipple extending from the holding plate and inclined to its normal axis, said nipple extending into the water container and connected to the inner container, a. brush connectedto the holding plate and means to turn the hollow shaft.

In a cleaning device the combination olf awater container having a bottom cover plate provided with holes, av holding plate with a nipple extending therefrom, said nipple rotatably and detachably connected tolsaid coifer plate and extending into thecontainer, a brush having flexible fingers detachably connected to said holding plate,

means to rotate said holding plate with its brush, means to feed water to said container and means to feed a cleaning' fluid to said brush.

In a. cleaning' device the combination of a. water container having' a bottom plate provided with holes, a holding plate having a nipple, said nipple extending through the hot-tom plate of the water container', a brush with flexible lingers. connected to said holding plate, means to 'feed water to the water container, a hollow shaft extending into said container. a second container for a cleaning fluid in said water container connected to said hollow shaft, the nipple ofthe holding plate connected to said second container and means to turn said hollow shaft.
