IMPROVEMENT lN LADIES PAPER TOWELS.
Specifi ation forming part of Letters Patent No. 162,647, datzd April 27, 1575 application filed January 23, 1875.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, J OSEPH H. HATCH, of Melrose, in the county of Middlesex and Commonwealth of Massachusetts, have invented a new and valuable Improvement in Ladies Paper Towel; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the construction and operation of the same.
The object of my invention is to provide paper pads for the use of females during menstruation.
These pads, elongated and of proper width, are confined at either end by means of elastic bands to a strap connected With a belt, such as have been in use, or confined in the same Way to the common towel.
These pads are constructed ofdifferent layers of paper, the inner surface presenting a ready absorbent, thick, soft, and flexible, the
outer surface having a layer impervious to moisture.
It will be evident that these pads will be but once used, and will be conducive to cleanliness.
I claim as my invention- The paper pads constructed as specifiedthat is, of layers of soft and flexible paper that shall be a ready absorbenti otf moisture, with a layer upon one side that shall be impervious tof'moisture, for the use of females during menstruation, in connection With the common towel or elastic belt and strap.
