. '12 is invention is a toilet paper receptacle and cons1sts of the novel features herein s hown,;descr1bed and claimed.
An object is to make a receptacle or holder for rolls of sheets of toilet paper, the paper I Figure 1 is a top plan view of a toilet seat construction rovided with a toilet paper receptacle em odying the principles of my invention, the View being taken looking in the direction indicated by the arrow 1 in Fig. 2. 7/
Fig. 2 is a front elevation as indicated by the arrow 2 in Fig. 1.
Fig. 3 is an enlarged vertical cross section on the lines 3-3 of Fi land 2 and lookingwin the direction indicated by the arrows.
1g. 4 is an enlarged fragmentary vertical longitudinal sectional detail on the line v44 of Fig: 3.
Fig. 5 is an enlarged fragmentary side elevat on on a plane parallel with Fig. 3 and as seen looking in the direction indicated by 9 and 10 to press the paper against the feed the arrow 5 in Fi 2.
Fig. 6 is a vertlcal cross 'section on the line 6-6 of Fig. 4.
Fig. 7 is. a diagrammatic view showing how the roll of paper is made up of overlapping sections.
The detailsof construction and operation shown in the drawings are as follows:
The toilet seat 1 has hinge members 2 pivotally connected to hinge members 3 rigidly mounted upon the bowl 4 by hinge pins 5. Hinge members '6 are incorporated with the hinge members 2 andv 3 upon the pins 5.
The toilet paper receptacle 7 is rigidly connected to the hinge members 6 and is a long box adapted to receive a roll 8 of toilet paper, the paper' being as wide as the toilet seat 1. The receptacle 7 has fiat ends 9 and 10 and a supporting spindle 11 is inserted through the end 9 and through a tube 12 upon which the paper 8 is wound and tapped into a hub 13 in the end 9, there being a'handle. 14 upon the opposite end of the spindle from the hub 13 for screwing the spindle in and out so that a new roll of paper may be inserted. The front side of the paper receptacle 7 is flat and normally I vertical and open.
A door 15 is mounted upon hinges 16 connected to the bottom of the receptacle 7 and swings upwardly to close the opening- Latches 17, extend from the ends of the door 15 outside of the ends 9 and ,10 to engage buttons 18" upon the ends and hold the door closed. When the roll of paper 8 is exha usted the door 15 may be swung forwardly and downwar dly and a new roll of paper a mounted upon a stub shaft 23 in mesh-with the pinion 21. A pawl wheel 24 is fixed to the gear 22. A casing 25 covers the gears 21 and 22 and the pawl wheel 24. A spring pressed pawl 26 en ages the pawl wheel 24 to hold the gears fr 111 bein operated backwardly. A crank 27 is fixe 'upon the outer end. of the stub shaft 23 and when the crank 27 is operated clockwise the feed roller 19 is operated to pull the paper from the roll.
A gripping roller 28 is mounted in the ends roller 19.
The roll of paper 8 is'mounted uponthe tube 12 and while it may be a single sheet of paper, I prefer to make the roll of sections 29, the sections being overlapped as shown in Fig. 7 so that when the crank 27 is operated to feed a section 29 forwardly over the seat 1 the next section 29 will be gripped between the rollers 19 and 28 before the first section is released. The paper 1s fed through the opening 15* in the door 15.
The paper receptacle 7 and co-operating parts are built into and'form a part of the toilet seat cover 30, the front face of the cover being flat and in line withthe door 15 when the door "is closed sothat the cover central portion of the couq may be shattered seat and a cover hingedly mounted on the bowl, the cover having a receptacle'formed in the back face, the front face of the cover having a slot ositioned adjacent the hinged mounting of t e cover, and means to mount a roll of paper in the receptacle with the free end of thepaper extending through the slot. i
