Application filed; May is,
This invention relates to certainjnew and useful nnprovements nend hooks; and pertains more especially to' end' 'h ooks forqbrace- 1 lets.
"ZFhe primary object of-the invention is to provide an improved structure of end hook which is of simple, economical and compact construction and which canbe easiuse of solder. v
A further object of the invention is to provide a hook of this type whichcan be snapped onto or over the usual bar on the watch and which can be easily and quickly operated to release the'hook. V g
A still further object of the invention is to' provide a structure wherein accidental disengagement of the parts is minimized.
V In the drawings:-'

Fig. 3 is a sectionon line 3-3 of Fig. 1, and a i.
Fig. 4 is a perspective view of the spring,
lyand quickly assembled and without the -planview of the in- In proceeding in accordance with the present invention 1 indicates the hook which is centrally slotted at 2, thereby affording a bifurcated hook. The shank 3 ofthe hook may be soldered to the bracelet B or other part, to which the hookis to be connected.
Preferably the shank has lips 3 on its sides which are bent or curled over the bracelet sides, as shown, thereby to afford a-firm and positive connection. V
' A pin & extends through earsf5 on the sides of shank 3 and also through ears 6 on the inner end of a substantially shaped latch 7. The outer end of the latch is reduced in width to be received in the slot 2 of the hook and is curved at 8 toconf'orm to the watch bar'.(not shown) and has its end 9 bent outwardly at an angle to form a finger nail grip. j
It also will be evident that by reason of the slots 7 formed at the back of. the latch 7 when the latch 7 is lifted its full movementit will be locked in the raised p0 sition-by reason of the sides of the latch 7 contacting with the sides of the slot 2'.
A substantially V shaped spring 10 is emone end against the latch andzat its other end against the shank 3. 'The'springis a top plan view of the invento tension the latch.

the spring, rearward movementbeing prevented by' contact with the bracelet end B or otherpart-towhich the shank 3 is con-q f 1 'nected.
From the foregoing it will beseen that in applying thehook it is merely necessary to.
effect relative engagement of the latch and. the watch bar so as. to cause the latch to move inward whereupon the bar will be engaged'in the hook and between the latter and the part 8 of the latch. T'o dis-7 V engage theparts' it is merel necessary to grip end, 8of the latch am to move the same to release the latch.
Since the part 8 lies directly opposite tov the hook it will be noted that accidental disenga'gement'is minimized, since an angular movementof the latch is required to release the same. I 1 Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new and'desire to secure by Let ters Patent :is Y i 1.- In combination with afho ok having a shank, the hook being centrally slotted, a substantially Zr-shaped latch, a pin carried by the shank and to which the latch is pivoted at one end, the other end of the latch being the hook and having acurved part directly opposed to the hookand an angular outwardly extendingfinger-engaging end, a substantially V-shaped, spring centrally slotted and engaged between the shank and .the. first to the angular end of the spring and-holds the latter onto the pin. i

to the shank so that the object lies adjacent I 2. In combination ,witha' hook having a 7' slot which extends through the free end thereof and. a shank, a substantially Z- shaped latch pivoted to the shank and having a reduced curved part receivedin the slot and having-an end formed to provide a finger grip which latter is normally disposed I V spring means 1 1 below the top of the hook, and
8. In combination with hook having a shank, a latch for closing the mouth of the 5. reduced in width to be received in the slot of 1 receiving the pin in its angle and means to connect an object torthe shank so that the object lies adjacent to the angular end'of the spring and holds the latter onto the pin.
4. In combination with a. bifurcated hook a latch composed of a plate pivotedat its rear end to the hook and having itsfront end curved from a pointadjacent the free end of the hook rea-rwardly of the latter and then toward the hook so as to dispose the free end of the curved partof the latch between the furcations of the hook, andspring means to tension the latch.
5; In combination with a bifurcated hook,
a latch, having a free end formed with ta- 'pering sides which are engageable with the furcations of the'hook to hold the latch in open 7, position, and means to tension the latch.
6. In combination with a bifurcated hook, a latch having sides engageable with the inner sides of the 'Jfurcati-ons of the hook, the
