Description
'rA'rns PATENT IMPROVEMENT IN OILERS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 161,693, datedApril 6, 1875; application filed March 13, 1875.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, ISAAC LEVY, of Ellaville, in the county of Madison and State of Florida, have invented a new and useful Improvement in ()iler, of which the following is a specification:
The figure is a side view of my improved.
oiler, parts being broken away to show the construction.
My invention has for its object to furnish an improved oiler, which shall be so constructed that it may be first used for blowing off the dust, shavings, &c., from the places where the oil is to be applied, and afterward may be used for applying the oil.
The invention consists in an improved oiler, made in two parts-one made of sheet metal, for the oil, and the other made of india-rubber, for the air-said parts being separated by a division-plate, and each part being provided with its own nozzle or discharge-channel, as hereinafter fully described.
The body of the oiler is made in the form of an ordinary oiler, but is made in two parts one part, A, being made of sheet metal, and the other part or half, 13, of india-rubber. The parts A B are separated by a plate, 0. The division-plate 0 may be extended longitudinally through the nozzle D, or each of the parts AB may be provided with its own nozzle. In
the latter case the two nozzles should be connected together.
The metal part A may be provided with an orifice closed with a screw-cap, a, for convenience in pouring in the oil. The rubber part B may be provided with a valve to admit the air, or the air may be allowed to enter through its nozzle or discharge-channel.
With this construction, the one part of the oiler may be first used'for blowing away dust, shavings, 850., from the place to be oiled, and then the other part may be used for applying the oil, thus enabling the dust to be conven iently blown away from any place where an oiler can be used.
Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent An improved oiler, made in two partsone made of sheet metal, for the oil, and the other made of india-rubber, for the air-said parts being separated by a division-plate, and each part being provided with its own nozzle or discharge channel, substantially as herein shown and described.
ISAAC LEVY.
