- This invention relates to book trolleys and more particularly to a device adapted to be attached to a desk for supporting large volumes such as track books and the like upon which work is being done. I
An important object of the invention is to provide a device of this character by means of which the book may be readily moved from one position to anothor enabling work upon different parts of the book without the necessity of shifting the book or supporting the weight thereof.
A further object of the invention is to provide a device of this character which may be readil attached to a desk and which has means w ereby the angle of the book to the horizontal may be ad usted.
A further object of the invent on is to produce a device of {this character which is simple in its construction and operation, durable and efiicient in service and a general. improvement in the art. F
These and other objects I attain by the construction shown in the accompanyingdrawing, wherein for the purpose of illustration is shown a preferredembodiment of my invention and wherein j Figure 1 is a rear elevation of,a book trolley constructed in accordance with my invention showing the same applied to a desk;
Figure 2 is a perspective of the trolley platform.
Figure 3 is an end elevation ofthe trolley and desk platforms; 3
Figure 4: is a perspective of. the form of Referring now more particularly to the drawing; the numeral 10 generally desigconnected to a table or desk. This frame- -work includes .apair of parallel; track sections 11 connected atintervals by'braces 12.
' The end braces, indicated at 13-, are extended to provide attaching arms 14 wh ch maybe connected with a desk bymeans of clamps 15 So that the framework 10 may be readily removed. Y a
, A roller supported platform 16 is provided coin rising a pairof'parallel bars 17 connected y suitable braces 18 and by axles 1925. mm m. 41,157.
19 having at their ends grooved rollers 20, the'grooves 21' of which are adapted to receive the tracks 11. Y
To one of the bars 17 is pivotally connected a desk platform 22, this bar having upstanding ears 23 coacting with the ears 24 carred by the desk platform to receive a hinge 25. The other of the bars is provided with slots 26 through which are directed threaded supports 27 pivoted to the desk plate 22 adjacent the opposite edge thereof. Each support 27 has associated therewith adjusting and clamping nuts 28 and 29 by means of which the extension of the support through the slots 26 may be regulated. By this means, the angular position of the desk p ate 22 may be ad'usted from a horizontal to an inclined position to suit the desires of the erson employin the device. The lower er ge of the desk p ate has secured thereto a ledge 30 against which the lower edge of a book may rest to limit its movement. Sto 5 31 are preferably provided upon the true as a means for limiting the movement of the trolley thereon.
It will be obvious that the construction a desk plate having upon its under surface adjacent one edge thereof spaced ears, correspondin ears carried by one longitudinal edge of t e platform and Evotally. connected with the ears of the dc plate, means connecting the opposite edge of the desk plate and platform for. vertically adjusting the last named ed e of the desk plate.
In'testimony w ereof. I hereunto afiix my signature.
