Be it known that ARTHUR Brass, a citizen of the United States of America, residing at Buckhannon, in the county of Upshur and State of West Virginia, has invented new and useful improvements in Tables, of which the following is a specification.

The object of the invention is to provide a convertible kitchen and ironing table 1c adapted for the adjustment of its elements to suit it to the different purposes for which it is designed without detracting from its efficiency in either capacity; and with this object in view the invention consists in a. construction and combination of parts of i which a preferred embodiment is shown in the accompanying drawings, wherein Figure 1 is a perspective View of the table with its parts adjusted to serve as an ironing table.

Figure 2 is an end view partly in section of the same showing in full lines the position of the parts adapting the device for use as a kitchen or ordinary table, and in- Y dicating in dotted lines the position thereof forv use as an ironing table.

The device consists of a frame 10 provided with supporting legs 11 and a top having a stationary member 12 and a movable member 13, the movable member being connected with the stationary member by means of strap links 14 each of which is pivotally connected at one end to the movable table top section as indicated at 15 and is pivotally connected at the other end to the stationary top section at 16, so that either side surface of the movable section may be arranged uppermost. The frame of the table is of Such a construction as to provide a cabinet or space 17, one portion of which may be used for storage of articles such as kitchen utensils, irons, ironing stands, etc.,` and carried by the movable table top section is an ironing board top 18 having standards -19 projecting `from one surface of the table top section, so that when the table top section is in one position the Serial No. 593,531.

ironing board top is housed within the cabinet or compartment 17 as indicated in full lines in FigureQ, whereas when said table top section is reversed the ironing board top is exposed and is supported in a proper position for use above the plane of the table top section.

Thus by simply raising the movable top section it is possible to reverse the operation so as to either present or house the ironing board top according to whether it is desired to use the same or adapt the table to be employed as an ordinary article of kitchen furniture.

'Having described the invention, what is claimed as new and useful is A table comprising a rectangular frame, a top panel fixed to the frame, a second top panel movablyl mounted with relation to the frame, said top panels, when in position upon the frame, having their meeting edges disposed along the median longitudinal dimension of the frame, stra links pivoted at their ends to the fixe andy movable panels at points midway between the side edges thereof and at the ends thereof, and an ironing board mounted upon the movable panel and having its median longitudinal dimension disposed beyond the points of pivotal connection between the links and the movable panel whereby, when the movable panel is swung upon its pivotal connection with the links to reverse its position with relation to the frame, the said ironing board may be enclosed within the intermediate portion of the frame or may be disposed above the frame of the table and in the vicinity of the edge thereof, the length of the strap links being greater than the transverse breadth of the movable panelwhereby the movable panel may be swung between the strap links to position either of the longitudinal edges of the movable panel beyond the same side of the frame.
