Application filed December This invention relates'to burnersfor heaters, such as stoves and furnaces, and has for its object to produce a simple, eicient, and economicalburner, which'can be easily and quickly applied in position without necessitating any modification or change in thel an opening for engagement with a gasfeed heater. l Y
More speciiically my object is to produce j a burner composed of units whereby varying capacity of heat generation may be secured to accommodate particularfheaters, andby which a flame body of maximumv depth in 'proportion to t-he volume of gas used, is attained. Slipped within the casing 1 is a second casing et of smaller diameter and open at its opposite ends and held in centeredV relation with respect to the first-named casing by means of a series of spacing lugs 5 to form a mixing chamber 6. It will be noted that the casing 4 is in contact with the closed end 2 of the outside casing 1, and that at said contacting end the inside kcasingis cutaway as at 7 to provide a passageway whereby the mixed air and gas in said casing 4e may escape downwardly into the mixing chamber 6 as will hereinafter appear.

The top of the outer casing 1 is formed with Y a plurality of similar spaced openings 18 each formed with side iianges 19. The opening in the bottom of eachburner Abox 16 is I centered with one of the openings 18 inthe l at their corners with supporting and spacing lugs 22 which are adapted to rest onA sup-V porting lugs 23 formed in thecorners of the boxes. When the spreaders are in position a gas escape slot or passage 24 is formed around the entireedge of the box as shown most clearly in Figure 2, and in this connec tion it will be 'listed' reference j burner boxes, to deflect the combustible mix-- tureto both ends of the burner boxes, n v
