PAPER HOLDER.

vApplication ile.` February Y The invention relates to note paper holders,l and particularly to the hind lwhere a roll ofpaper is drawn over a smooth surface so that memoranda may be written upon the exposed portion ofthe paper. Y

it is an object of theinvention to provide a device of the 'character described in which the exposed paper portion isheld taut s o, that memoranda may be-written upon'itVV without requiring the use/of theI left hand to hold the paper in place. I

A further object aims to provideautoniaticwineans for maintaining the exposed paper portionin taut condition. y Y

A still further object aims at providing resilient means for securing one end of the exposed paper portion in place and gravity actuated means for holding the other end in place so that the paper web vis held inV stretched or taut condition.

Another object constitutes the vprovision of means for holding the free paper end and imparting thereto a curl, so that upon the release of the holding means the curled paper unwinds and facilitates the grasp thereof.

In use a roll of paper i0 is deposited inthe cored out portion 13 ofthe'block and the paper web 4l isthreaded between the slide 23 which is held inposition by its gravity and the block and covers the inclined surface L of the block and terminates between the clamping plate and the block corner 15.
