IMPROVEMENT IN SLIP-TEETH FO R SEEDERS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 160,547, dated March 9, 1876; application filed January 16, 1875.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, GUILFORD D. RowELL, of Appleton, in the county of Outagamie, in the State of Wisconsin, have invented certain Improvements in Slip-Teeth for Seeders, of which the following is a specification:
The object of my invention is to make a sliptooth for a seeder or cultivator, which, when the same strikes an obstruction, will yield without breaking the tooth, and it is arranged with a cam which turns in the beam and lets the tooth slip back.
Figure 1 is a view of my invention with the beam broken away on one side, showing the cam.
A is the beam; B, the tooth; O, the brace of the tooth with a turned end fitting in a slot in the cam; D, the cam; E, figures on the top of the cam to set it by; F, pin through the beam and the cam; G, pin through the beam and the tooth.
1. The combination of slip-tooth B, having brace (J, with notched cam D, substantially as set forth.
2. The beam A, tooth B, having brace G, and cam D, having im'licator-ligures E, all in combination substantially as set forth.
