Projecting upwardly from said base portion 5 and fixedly secured therein is a shaft 25, and lock nuts 26 are provided for the lower end thereof. The upper end of said shaft is j ournaled in a bearing portion 27 of a platform member 27 which rests on the ball-bearings 8 and is adapted to revolve about said shaft as an axis and move on said ball-bearings. The platform member is somewhat larger in size than the base memher and its shape is as shown in Fig. 2. Near the periphery of said platform at one side thereof, a bearing 28 is formed integral with said platform and said bearing has a shaft 29 revolubly journaled therein. The upper end of the shaft has a turn wheel 30 keyed thereto and the portion of the shaft between the bearing and the turn wheel is surrounded by a jacket 31 as shown. Then, the person on the platform may turn the turn wheel slowly. This will revolve shaft 29 and also the pulley 33 carried thereby. As the platform revolves, the person standing thereon will turn with respect to the standard and the marker which are stationary at all times, and the dress-maker or assisting person will cause the garment to brush against the chalk in the marker arm and an accurate, circumferential mark may be described about the garment and wherever desired.

Thus, it will be seen that the improved dress or garmentmarker can be very easily and accurately operated, is of very simple construction, and is well adapted for the purpose described.

What we claim as our invention is:

1. A. garment marker, comprising a base member, a platform member rotatably'seated on said base member and. adapted to have a person stand thereon, said platformmember having an integral portion extending laterally beyond the edge of the base member, a

shaft rotatably journaled in said extension portion, a pulley fixedly secured to the end portion of the shaft adjacent the lower face of the platform, an endless flexible means passing around the base member and the pulley, and a wheel keyed to the upper end of the shaft and accessible to a person on said platform for imparting rotation to said pulley whereby said platform will be rotated on the base as said pulley rotates.

2. A garment marker, comprising a stationary base member, a platform member rotatably seated on said base member and adapted to havea person stand thereon, said platform member having an integral portion extending laterally beyond the edge of the base member, a shaft rotatably j ournaled in said extension ortion a aullev fixedl carried by the end portion of the shaft adjacent the lower face of the platform, an endless flexible belt means passing around the base member and the pulley,a wheel keyed to the upper end of the shaft and accessible to a personon the platform for imparting rotation to said, pulley whereby said platform will be revolved on the base as said pulley rotates. a graduated standard member rigidly connected to the base, and a marker arm slidablv and adjustably carried by said graduated standard member and cooperating with said revoluble platformfor describing a circular mark on the garment of the person on the? platform, said marker ar'in being formed in two sections pivotally joined together and the outer end being provided with a aw for clamp'ingly engaging a piece of chalk or the like.
