UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
DANIEL K. WERTMAN, OF SHENANDOAH, PENNSYLVANIA.
IMPROVEMENT IN REVOLVING RACKS FOR HOLDING STOCKINGS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 160,373, dated March 2, 1875 5 application filed November 30, 1874.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, DANIEL K. WERTMAN, of Shenandoah, in the county of Schuylkill and State of Pennsylvania, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Revolving Stocking-Holder Rack, of which the following is a specification:
This invention consists of an improved device for suspending socks, stockings, or other goods from a revolving rack, as hereinafter described. F
In the accompanying drawing, Figure 1 is an elevation of the machine. Fig. 2 is a view of the base, it being a horizontal section. Fig. 3 represents a full-sized holder, to be attached over or through the arms, with a pin attached.
Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts. i
The frame of the rack is composed of an octagonal base, D G, each inclined section of which has compartments H for articles of sale,
and vertical outer posts 0, which are joined to the central pivot-post Aby horizontal bars 13. Frames F are also shown suspended from arms E, from which goods may be suspended. I are suspending-hooks attached to the armsB. J are pins or other equivalent fastenings, supported by the hooks I, on which pins the stockings are suspended.
The stockings may be suspended in pairs or clusters of a dozen, with their size, quality, and price marked for the accommodation of purchasers. The said rack revolves on an iron pin in the base, and stands on the counter, or in any suitable position, for exhibiting the goods.
K K are rods arranged between and parallel to bars 13, to assist in keeping the suspended goods in proper position.
Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent- The hooks I and pins J, in combination with a revolving rack, for the purposes described.
DANIEL K. WERTMAN.
