IMPROVEMENT IN SADDLE-HORSE APPARATUS.

Specifi ation forming part of Letters Patent No. 1 60,322, daed March 2, 1875 application filed August 10, 1874.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, ADRIAN HITT, of Flora, in the county of Clay and State of Illinois, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Saddle-Horse Apparatus, of which the following is a specification:

The invention consists in a stay-strap extending from the crupper on each side of the horse, and connecting with the strap which to loops attached to the upper pulleys D D, as seen at i t. J is a stay-strap on each side of the horse, which is attached to the crupper O, and to the end of the forked strap F, as seen at K K. L is the saddle-girth.

The stay-straps counteract the forward pull of the forked strap F when the rider draws upon the reins, and prevents folding or wrinkling of the girth, or its being drawn forward toward or between the fore-legs of the horse, as happens when the ordinary martingale at tachment is used.
