My invention'relates to pocket knives and I hereby declare the followingwhen' taken in connection with the accompanying drawings and characters of reference marked thereon, to be a clear, full and correct 'description of the same.

fThe object of the invention is to produce" a pocket knife of simple construction com-. prising buttwo main parts which'are eco nomical to manufacture and convenient and eflicient in use, 7 U I The invention isfurther characterized in that it includes a handle; portion adapted to be made of a single piece of wire bent into shape to provide a housing for the sides and edge of "the blade and to provide a spring for the blade, the said wire handle portion being adapted to be bent up 1nto shape by an automatic machine thus insuring an extremely low cost of manufacture beside producing a durable, simple, con-- venient and efficient pocket knife.

WVith these and other objects in view the invention resides and consists in the construction and novel combination and arrangement of parts hereinafter more fully described, illustrated in the accompanying drawings, and; pointed out in the claims hereto appended, t- 'being understood that various changes in the form proportion, size and minor details of construction within the scope of the claims may be resorted to without departure from thespirit or sacrificing any of the advantagesof the invention.

These side members are spaced apart one from the other so as to form between them a chamber or pocket 14: which is preferably wider at its forward end than at the loop end 10 so as to readily receive the knife blade 15, one end of which is pivotally mounted in the end portions 16 0f the side member of the knife handle as is clearly shown in Fig. 2. The end portions of the side member are preferably flattened as shown and are thus formed flush with the inner face of the wire of the side portions so as to provide a rigid support for the pivotal end of the blade.
