Figure 3 is an enlarged fragmentary section on the line 3-3 of Figure 1.
' Figure 4 is a similar View on the line 4.4 of Figure 1.
Figure 5 is a detail perspective view of the coupling member. I
Referring to the drawings in detail wherein like characters of reference denote corresponding parts, the cleaning device as shown comprises a back 10 which may be made of any suitable material and which has secured thereto by any convenient or suitable means an absorbent material 11. This material may be of any character suitable for washing or drying windows or both, so that in the use of the invention one cleaning device may be utilized for washing a window and another for drying purposes.
To provide convenient means for using the device in low places such as upon the lower portions of windows, there is secured to the back 10 a glove or mitten 12 which may be formed of water-proof or other suitable material so that the hand of the. operator may be inserted within the glove or mitten and the device conveniently used.
Serial No. 695,527.
with one end of the handle 13, while extend? ing from one end of this tubular threaded member 14 are spaced apertured ears 15'. These ears are provided with outwardly inclined marginal flanges 16 and receive between them one end ofthe back 10. A fa'stening device 17 extends through the apertured ears and through the back 10 and serves to hold the flanges 16 into biting engagement with the opposite faces of the back and as the edge of the back is arranged against the adjacent end of'the tubular member 14, the coupling member will be securely held in place by a single fastening device.
One end. of'the cleaning device is provided with a pointed or ofi'set portion 18 as a convenient means for cleaning in corners.
The invention is susceptible of various changes in its form, proportions and minor details of construction and the right is herein reserved to make'such changes as properly fall within the scope of the appended claim. j 7
Having described the invention what is claimed is z-- i A brush holder comprising a tubular threaded member for threaded engagement with one end of the handle, spaced apertured ears extending from one end of the tubular member for receiving the cleaning device and inwardly extending opposed marginal gripping flanges extending along the outer end and side edges of the ears and a clamplng bolt extending through the'ears and adapted to extend through the back of a brush clamped between said ears.
In testimony whereof I aflix my ture.
