My invention provides an extremely simple launderable bonnet or cap adapted to be readily made in plain and in different ornamental designs. The bonnet or cap is adapted to be made from a single piece of clothor from several pieces .of cloth stitched together in the form of a sheet adapted to be laid out approximately flat and, hence, to be .easil washed and readily ironed.

The'bod y of the bonnet or cap, when laid out flat, has four sides and is preferably made more narrow at its rear than at itsfront edge. On its side edges, it is provided with separable fasteners,preferably buttons and buttonholes, the arrangement being such that the two sides of the iece or sheet are adapted to be gathered in olds and independently held in the gathered condition at the two sides to give form to the bonnet or cap.

As above indicated, the bonnet or cap may be made in various different designs, some ofwhich may be very ornamental.

The invention is illustrated in the accompanying drawings, wherein like characters indicate like parts throughout the several views.

In actual practice, this improved bonnet or cap has been found to be thoroughly practicable, highly desirable, and commercially valuable. It may' be made of all sorts. of different materials, as well as in various different ornamental or plain designs.

a What I claim is:

1. A bonnet or cap formed from a substantiallyrectangular sheet having atfront .and rear corners-of each of its sideedge portions a separable fastener for connecting said corners, and se arable fasteners for holding the interme iate portion of each of its side edge portions gathered.

2. A bonnet or" cap formed from a substan-.-

tially rectangular sheet having at front and rear corners of each of its side edge. portions a separable fastener for connecting said corners, the intermediate portion of the sheet at each of its side edge portions being gathered, and separable fasteners for holding gathered portions of saidsheet to the front edge 011 101! thereof.

5. A bonnet or cap formed from a rectangular sheet having buttons at its front corners and buttonholes at its .rear corners,

and also having two intermediate-buttons at manage? its front edge portion and two intermediate brittonholes at each of its side edge portions, said corner buttonho'les and the rear intermediate buttonholes being arranged for application to the corner buttons and the front intermediate buttonholes being arranged for application to the intermediate buttons, adapting the sides to be gathered in folds and secured to give form to the bonnet or cap.
