App1ication filed February The present invention relates to tile or brick, and has for its object to provide an object of this character which embodies novel features of construction, whereby adjrcent or superposed rows of the tile or brick will be held in a properly spaced re lation so 'that mortar or cement can be caused to flow or be distributed unitorn'ily between the same.
l urther objects of the invention are to provide a brick or tile of this character which is comparatively simple and inexpensive in its construction, which can be handied in the same way as ordinary tile or brick, and which may also be provided with means tor obtaining a firm bond with underlying; cement or mortar.

On all of the various figures of the drawing the reference character A designates the body portion oi a tile which may be of any conventional size or shape, and may be formed of any suitable material. The tiles are ordinarilyrectangular in shape, substan tially as illustrated, and such tiles can be readily assembled in adjacent rows when using them as a facing tor a floor or wall, either for interior or exterior work. The tile A of Figure 1 is shown as provided at the back thereof with a pair of diverging wings 1, which have a width corresponding 5, 1924. Serial No. 694,886.
